the euro's have taken a simple process and made it their own, no matter how much more work it is. Cut the tree down, cut into 6 foot pieces , transport, split then cut it again to fire wood lengths. That's how you end up with these huge euro log splitters we see here.
The wood is cut to 1 meter as many homes in the colder climates of Europe are heated with wood burning Furnaces that use that length of wood. So please do not be offensive. Also, just so you know, I like the music.
So you need 2 tractors to handle those long logs. One to lift them and one to run the splitter. For what? So you can end up with 3 foot split pieces. Most people can't burn 3 foot pieces. Overkill for 95% of woodburners.
