Well, I think that the conspiracy regarding Fox News is unsubstantiated. Sure, it's kinda obvious that O'Reilly is pretty damned conservative, but he's simply Fox News's answer to the rediculous liberal bias of the rest of the media. That's not a conspiracy - it's a reaction to a conspiracy.
Well, MSNBC is pretty conservative. So is CNN. Liberal media has been forced, pretty much, underground. There was an article on msnbc that showed media contributions to liberal candidates. If MSNBC was not conservative, they would not have run that article. Plus, for the most part, there was one or 2 people from different organizations that donated to liberal candidates, and they said, "Look, evidence of the liberal media." I doubt that.
It would have been more credible if they did liberal/conservative contributions in each outlet. Instead, the conservative media bashed the few liberals in it. I bet, in general, there were more people from these media outlets contributing to conservative candidates than liberal ones. However, they just picked a couple liberals from each and said, "it's the liberal media."
If the media were truly liberal, the conservatives wouldn't have held the whitehouse for 28 of the past 36 years. The liberal media would have demonized the conservative candidates and people would have voted liberal. However, this has not happened, so I would have to say the media is not liberal.
A lot of that comes from the fact that the majority of anchors of these programs on these news channels are conservative. There's only one liberal on msnbc it seems. That is Keith Olberman. The rest: Matthews, Scarborough, Carlson are conservative.

There has been a republican president for 19 of the past 27 years. Until this year, republicans have had control of at least one of the houses of congress for over a decade. The "liberal agenda", if there really is one, is vastly more complicated than reaching out to the poor at the expense of the middle class.
I say, flip-flop the current income tax scale. It's regressive right now, which burdens the poor, because they get hit for a higher percentage of their gross wages than do the rich. The more you make, the lower the percentage you have to pay. If you cut the taxes for those who really need it, the poor and middle class, and raise the taxes on the rich, we keep a steady source of tax revenue AND relieve the burden off the poor and middle class.
Another option is to completely do away with personal income taxes and tax corporate activity, like the income tax was originally intended, it alleviates the burden entirely from the average citizen and places it where it was intended to be, on the corporations. They've just reversed the system from what it was intended to be. They make everyone but themselves pay taxes.
However, the progressive income tax is one of the pillars of communism, so I'm sure I'll be called one for saying that. So was a state-owned central bank. That is exactly what we have in the federal reserve. Except it is run by private bankers, basically the rich, like the Rockefellers, who are the state. They are the state because they control the state. It is ultimately the same thing.
You see, about 100 years ago, when the Fed and income taxes were created, it was being pushed as a way to close the gap between the rich and poor, people like J.P Morgan, John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, etc and the average Joe. However, what they did was create foundations, dropped all their money into them, passed income tax legislation that exempted the foundations, and retained their money, tax free, while the average person had to pay.
Then, they ran into a problem with their companies and foundations being held, generation after generation, in the family. So, what they did was create the concept of trusts, and left their companies/foundations to their trust, with rules saying who the leadership in the trust would be, how they would control the companies/foundations, etc.
That way they could retain their inheritance while the average upper-middle class person, or just above middle class had to pay taxes on their inheritance. Basically, the super-rich have been fucking everyone out of their shit while mantaining theirs for the past 100 years. Probably more, but I've only gotten reliably back to the early 1900s.

All of you should look at the 990 PF's of these foundations. They double digit millions invested into the markets. That money accumulates money, lots of it, and they take a percentage of that, and donate it to each of their different causes each year. They turn a profit, so why it's called non-profit, I don't know.

Right im a communist from the UK, and i have had the distinct pleasure of meeting bernie in person and talking to him. Im sorry to tell all you right wingers bernie is far from a communist. he is a passionate liberal and i have imense respect for the man. The only liberal media is national government funded media (ie the uk's BBC) fox and NBC are funded by buisness and therefore adopt a right wing ideology.

Well, I think that the conspiracy regarding Fox News is unsubstantiated. Sure, it's kinda obvious that O'Reilly is pretty damned conservative, but he's simply Fox News's answer to the rediculous liberal bias of the rest of the media. That's not a conspiracy - it's a reaction to a conspiracy.

Well, MSNBC is pretty conservative. So is CNN. Liberal media has been forced, pretty much, underground. There was an article on msnbc that showed media contributions to liberal candidates. If MSNBC was not conservative, they would not have run that article. Plus, for the most part, there was one or 2 people from different organizations that donated to liberal candidates, and they said, "Look, evidence of the liberal media." I doubt that.

It would have been more credible if they did liberal/conservative contributions in each outlet. Instead, the conservative media bashed the few liberals in it. I bet, in general, there were more people from these media outlets contributing to conservative candidates than liberal ones. However, they just picked a couple liberals from each and said, "it's the liberal media."

If the media were truly liberal, the conservatives wouldn't have held the whitehouse for 28 of the past 36 years. The liberal media would have demonized the conservative candidates and people would have voted liberal. However, this has not happened, so I would have to say the media is not liberal.

A lot of that comes from the fact that the majority of anchors of these programs on these news channels are conservative. There's only one liberal on msnbc it seems. That is Keith Olberman. The rest: Matthews, Scarborough, Carlson are conservative.

On CNN you have Beck, Dobbs, and Cooper that are all conservatives. Dobbs says he's an independent, but last decade he was a big RNC cheerleader. When the RNC turned on him, he turned a little to the left.

The Airways belong to the PUBLIC wich is why ALL broadcasters have to apply every few years to the FCC for a license to use those PUBLIC airways. The Farness Doctrine and the equal-time rule worked just fine from 1929 tell the 1980's when Ragen killed it.

But I think you are being FAR to simplistic by making the statement that Liberals are somehow responsible for the current demise of the middle class. The reality is simple. There has been a republican president for 19 of the past 27 years. Until this year, republicans have had control of at least one of the houses of congress for over a decade. The "liberal agenda", if there really is one, is vastly more complicated than reaching out to the poor at the expense of the middle class.

I say, flip-flop the current income tax scale. It's regressive right now, which burdens the poor, because they get hit for a higher percentage of their gross wages than do the rich. The more you make, the lower the percentage you have to pay. If you cut the taxes for those who really need it, the poor and middle class, and raise the taxes on the rich, we keep a steady source of tax revenue AND relieve the burden off the poor and middle class.

Another option is to completely do away with personal income taxes and tax corporate activity, like the income tax was originally intended, it alleviates the burden entirely from the average citizen and places it where it was intended to be, on the corporations. They've just reversed the system from what it was intended to be. They make everyone but themselves pay taxes.

However, the progressive income tax is one of the pillars of communism, so I'm sure I'll be called one for saying that. So was a state-owned central bank. That is exactly what we have in the federal reserve. Except it is run by private bankers, basically the rich, like the Rockefellers, who are the state. They are the state because they control the state. It is ultimately the same thing.

You see, about 100 years ago, when the Fed and income taxes were created, it was being pushed as a way to close the gap between the rich and poor, people like J.P Morgan, John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, etc and the average Joe. However, what they did was create foundations, dropped all their money into them, passed income tax legislation that exempted the foundations, and retained their money, tax free, while the average person had to pay.

So, what they did was create the concept of trusts, and left their companies/foundations to their trust, with rules saying who the leadership in the trust would be, how they would control the companies/foundations, etc.

If you want to know what all the Rockefellers own, good look. They've hid their money behind foundations upon foundations, companies upon companies, trusts upon trusts, you'll never figure them out. They, however, probably know where everything is. Perhaps if wiretaps applied to the government, and not just us, we'd know a little more things. I would think they spend a lot of time calling overseas.

All of you should look at the 990 PF's of these foundations. They double digit millions invested into the markets. That money accumulates money, lots of it, and they take a percentage of that, and donate it to each of their different causes each year. They turn a profit, so why it's called non-profit, I don't know.
