  • I might have considered buying this if it wasn't for the utter pain in the arse experience of their online registration via service centre I had.I have never ever got so wound up in my life and vowed never to use their products again.I ended up selling kontakt to someone else and went back to hardware.Their stuff was ok when you just put in a few numbers from your cd case and it worked immediately. Now you even have to beg for permission to sell on,a product you paid for.Amazing.

  • I need this.

  • It works with pro tools 8 LE?

  • I've had ToonTrack stuff ezdrummer, metalheads etc and also XLN addictive drums and was never fully satisfied until I purchased studio drummer, I am blown away by it, so many things the programme can do, 3 kits, tonnes of different presets, mixing equiptment and studio eq's built in and a tonne of midi groves, which can be changed and messed with, think native instruments got it right with this, now all I have to do is upgrade from guitar rig 3 to 5 once I get more money :(

  • Want.

  • But can it do double kick breakdowns?

  • this program works awesome with cubase

  • I find it better than NI Modern drums (better sound, plus internal mixer and groove bank) but guys wtf my Kontakt 5 doesnt keep it among its libraries. i mean when close the Kontakt and open it again I gotta look for Studio drums library and add it again. do u have such problem? (I play it under Win 7 x32)

  • wow now everybody can make music without having any idea of playing a real instrument...

  • Comment removed

  • @DeinVorbild95 Why should creativity be boggled down by the ability to use your hands? You still have the ideas in your head stuff like this just allows you to put it into music. This is coming from a guitarist/pianist/bassist/drummer/singer. That shit is for live, you've still put the notes down. Also I'm pretty sure you can make your own drum beats with this too, and use electronic kits with it. Once you get to grips with how beats work you can learn the actual instrument too.

  • Is it possible to play it with NI Maschine / Maschine Mikro or do I need real drums?

  • sick

  • Does Studio drummer give you the choice of brush hit drums used in jazz?

  • IT NEEDS MOAR COWBELL!!!

  • This is quite the roadblock for aspiring studio drummers ahaa

  • It sounds good, but does not work well with Pro Tools 10 on a PC. Drag and drop doesn't work well and constant assertion errors occur. Frequently crashed Pro Tools, forcing a complete system reboot. I gave up and am now using Superior Drummer which has more capabilities anyway.

  • @robtighe Use a Mac. What more can I say?

  • Does this work with Pro Tools MP 9?

  • Cannot compare to a real drummer...

  • @ph33rbot101 of course not, but for someone who doesn't play drums and wants drum tracks its perfect.

  • can you control these kits with a usb drum kit via usb like alesis makes these days?

  • Wow, this must be a joke. Can't compare to the other programs on the market :o(

  • herp derp

  • By Ez Drummer, do you guys mean Superior Drummer? I don't know anyone that uses Ez Drummer professionally anymore.

  • Seemes good. I don't think I'll ever use this though. Considering I play noobishly on my own drums. :)

  • OMG How much is it? Anyone know? And are there any programs like this for guitars? PLEASE HELP

  • cool, one more reason why real drums and drummers are obsolete. thanks.

  • @DrumEagle Do not forget that you must have a GOOD drummer knowledge and skill to make it sound good and true, one must therefore know how to use their tools and instruments to create good music, you can not buy rhythmic knowledge in the supermarket, only hard work can give you this understanding!

  • @pleximanic

I completely agree with that. And for the musicians who do not have a (good) drummer, such drum-programs are great.

  • This looks expensive...

  • hire a real drummer

  • where do u guys post ur songs using ez drummer , studio drummer ? :)

  • "The garage kit gives you the derp"

    LOL DERP

  • @WithoutConviction Derpy Hooves! :D

  • @WithoutConviction Thats exactly what I thought when I heard that.

  • @WithoutConviction :) made me LOL

  • The song on this is so super cool

  • dnt beat EZ drummer!

  • also can i make my own drum loops by taking individual hits?

  • @EJOpdahl im wondering the same, could i use this with a electric drumkit?

  • @najtrows

    that would be sick

  • can i install this into an existing production software? If so, would it be compatable with cakewalk Guitar tracks pro 4? or Sonar?

  • Is this compatible with FL studio?

  • does this also work as a sampling for playing with an electric kit or keyboard?? such as addictive drums or superior drummer? because so far they are my favorite programs and they sound the best and most realistic.

  • Damn, this sounds pretty tight. I'll have to check this out!

  • god damn, listening to the music, the drum tracks just fit in so well

    sounds completely vivid and unsimulated

  • Big Question: What if I want to route each drum to a different channel in Pro Tools / Logic? Correct me if I'm wrong, but once you record, you can't tweak. I don't like the idea of having an entire kit smooshed onto one stereo midi track. Then if I want to mess with the room mic or eq the snare, what would I do then? re-record the entire track? Maybe it's better to have it all in the plug in interface... but I'm just not seeing it. can you help me out?

  • I love how so many of you feel so offended by a program like this. There are guitar samplers, bass samplers, and so many other instruments in a sampled form. This program just provides convenience to so many musicians who may not have a drummer ready for their music project, or maybe the band doesn't have the money readily available to go to a high end studio to record drums of this quality and nature. You all need to chill the fuck out and stop crying like little babies.

  • Comment removed

  • Or you could get a real drummer.

  • i guess it's an option if your drummers keep imploding...but i'd still prefer live drums.

  • THANK YOU NATIVE INSTRUMENTS, ANOTHER GREAT PROGRAM I WILL CRACK, hehehehehehe

  • 1:07, did he just say the garage kit gives you "The Derp"? XD

  • So... Is this like $499 or something? o_O

  • @RyanTheEpic

    $169, actually

  • Needs more cowbell.

  • Is it possible to drag and drop Studio Drummer Patterns into NI Maschine?

  • 1:06 i'm so glad a drumset can finally give me the derp

  • hey fellow drummers. Theres no reason to feel threatened because they have to hire drummers to make these samples. Theres plenty of career opportunities left for us in this music business. Plus a computer doesn't have the feel that we do which is always important ;)

  • @trinston13 of course we need a real drummer then replace the hit with a trigger LOL

  • can this be a plug in for pro toools?????????

  • GUYS CAN I USE MY MIDI KEYBOARD AND MAKE MY OWNNNNNNNN BEATSSSSSSSS!!!!!?????????????????????

also can i use this wwith garagband? import????

  • Its a great alternative to buying an actual drum kit, a place to put and dozens of mics to record it. Plus mist good ones have multisampled parts which "as a real drummer" sound pretty damn good.

  • The drummers on here that are feeling all threatened by a computer program are making me laugh... relax guys... not everybody has the kit, neighbors, mics, money or space to record awesome real drums. Enter sampled software.

  • Hey Studio Drummer, suck my dick! Sincerely, a live drummer.

  • 1:06 DERP

  • In EZDrummer you have more than three drumkits.

  • how much does it cost?

  • That is strange how everyone says EZ drummer is the best. It seems like I am the only one who thinks Addictive drums sounds better. :) I wish they had humanization... Although.. The range of EZ drummer's is too wide. Sometimes it feels like it is played by a lame drummer. :S

  • @147147Nick I agree with you that Addictive Drums does sound the best. Ez Drummer has a real fake sound where Addictive Drums has the most realistic sound with the most options in mixing the sounds and adjusting each drum ect ect

  • @WayneWiblin Indeed. Love that I can mix cymbals separately!

But I should say I like Studio drummer too. I bought it after watching demos and wasn't disappointed at all. I still like AD most but this VST is not bad at all. Especially their snare.Try it if you have a chance.

  • @147147Nick Addictive drums has more tweaking which is why I like it. Also EZ Drummer used to crash one of my old rigs. I think I prefer the snares of EZ Drummer however.

  • @147147Nick Shhhh AD is the secret:) check it on my channel

  • @147147Nick I love the addicted drums sound better myself but I bought EZ cause it's cheaper. I have good sounding mix for drums on Samplitude 11 PRoducer that I use with it.

  • more cowbell!!!

  • i like the drum track

  • i got something alot more fun to use, real life drums

  • Definitely a serious Nod to Both BFD and Toontrack.. looks pretty cool and if I know NI, it'll only get better

  • Ummm, I believe this has already been done, Its called EZdrummer. :)

  • @NativeInstruments a problem a lot of software drum programs have is the fact that every hit sounds the same. Does this occur in Studio Drummer as well? or no?

  • @dsnj1992 That's totally not true. You need to buy one program and spend time with it. BFD which is my drum VST of choice (and only because I began with them 6 years ago) has limitless possibilities in terms of dynamics, pressure, openness, swing, humanization, Damping,Tuning etcetcetc.. I've recorded albums where the reviews on the disc were poor but they raved about the drummer... technique doesn't end with a preset, you have to open the hood and "Play" the instrument...

  • Gives you the derp lol

  • whee, another drum machine...

why would i use this over SDX?

  • For every sale of this software a drummer loses their job.

  • 170 FUCKING DOLLARS??? THATS OUTRAGEOUS

  • They must come out with Studio Cowbell.

  • @AugenArts

It would take forever, cause there would never be enough cowbell D:

  • Dunno if it beats Addictive...

  • O_o fucking need it

  • Is there any software that allows you to play different types of guitars?

  • @KevinMason81 yes, are you talking about software guitar instruments?

  • @teacee yes i am

  • @KevinMason81 You have Vir2 Acoustics Legends Hd, Spectrasonics Trilian, Vir2 Electri6ity, MuiscLab RealGuitar 2L, Vir2 Acoustic Legends HD, Kontakt, and many of the Daw softwares like Apple Logic, have a lot of guitar presets and effects.

  • @KevinMason81 yes i am referring to software guitar instruments.

  • I liked this better when it was called Tootrack EZdrummer..lol...NI is still the best out there though.

  • Tom toms sounds like cheap Rototoms ... NI are still far behind TOONTRACK SUPERIOR DRUMMER 2 released 5 years ago !

  • @pbaudinat (Digidesign) Avid Strike is the best Virtual drum instruments vs any other drummer instrument, too bad its only RTAS.

  • @teacee Doesn't beat Addictive Drums for sound. Addictive is yummy as all hell.

  • @ronnysoeberg the only thing bad about addictive drums is the authentication process. I can't tell you how many times i've had to copy and paste that stupid code they give you and i only use ONE computer. If you install a new hard drive or something, guess what, you've got to do it all over again because it won't recognize your computer. Other than the hassle, yeah it does sound good.

  • @goodvibrato i never had to do that 0_o

  • @ronnysoeberg Yeah I agree with you that Addictive Drums is nice, I have used it and own Ez drummer, Battery and others, Strike has all of the Above and then some, check it out on the Avid website. Its all about affordability and preferences my friend. If you don't use Pro Tools you can use Strike for one, and the cost is a little more expensive then the others. I like and use Native instruments Komplete versions 3-7 so I am not knocking this, or any other one, use what makes you happy.

  • anybody know if the hard drive comes with the upgrade

  • i wish they had this full mixer in NI's Modern Drums... oh well looks like im upgrading! haha

  • Does it has a pre sampled snare drum roll?

  • any chance of Roland HD-1 drum maps for the abbey road series and this?

  • Can this be triggered and played by a midi set up like thier other drum software ? I have Abbey road 80s drums now playing it with my Roland drum kit. and would love to be able to do the same with this.

  • @143Chippy yes.

  • Comment removed

  • what is Cymbal digger?

  • Will it djent?

  • @Sphereal thats what i asked

  • You should add more midi choices... for instance, 3500 patterns, unfortunately... because I stick mostly to my own genre, i wont be using.. Jazz, funk etc etc patterns..

The midi patterns are the most important part of this IMO.. and adding more.. per genre DRASTICALLY improves the value.. for me.

  • So could I use this along side Steven Slate Drums?

The midi browser is just what I need.

I like the way NI do things, I understand it.

  • mu f*cking crap! are native instruments trying to kill us of massive doses of endorphine :D

  • I think I just pee'd my pants!!!! NI does it yet again!!!!

  • Being a drummer and dubstep producer, this looks to be perfect for me. The tiny differences in timing and sound you can make playing manually can't be replaced by little squares on a screen. Not for me at least.

  • Kontakt 5? Didn't they *just* come out with Kontakt 4?

  • "And for 16 easy installments of $19.99 this could be yours!"

  • Who can compete with NI???

  • you guys are so epic! keep up the good work!

  • Can I play it with an e-drum?

If so, has it the presets for the most common e-drums (like my roland TD9) ?

Without the presets you are going to lose some potential buyers like me, that prefer an "easy to use" product instead of a superior product that take me too much time to use it.

  • Looks like it takes the fun out of producing dubstep =/

  • Wait... Please tell me you'll be able to program your own MIDI-grooves with this.

  • Great sound but too much compression in the demo I think.

  • Wow, I was considering EZ Drummer, this one sounds very superior, theres no right or wrong answer.

Allot less fuss than a real drum kit, this basically blows a real drum kit out of the water.

  • I assume you can play each drum sound individually on a keyboard?

  • @Penguindog55 yes.

  • I haven't had very good experiences with kontakt in the past, superior 2 is much more reliable than anything based on the older kontakt that i've seen

  • I LIKE MODERN DRUMS

  • That's explains cymbal digger

  • can I import my own samples into studio drummer?

  • @infectiousfiles it's a kontakt instrument, you can import your own sounds into kontakt. Kontakt is a sampler.

  • @infectiousfiles Studio Drummer isn't a sampler, it's a sample library for Kontakt. It's not the thing that you import sounds into, it IS the sounds that you import to something else (Kontakt).

  • @neblixmusic yes, but is there a way to program studio drummer to play different samples when a snare is hit with different velocities? that's all I want to know because that'd be good

  • how does it compare with Superior drummer?

    try sell me :P

  • how does it compare with Superior drummer???

    try sell me :P
