The reflection is from moisture droplets in the air measured in "water grains". Water reflects, real "dust" doesn't. You can't feel it because it's such a tiny amount, it evaporates quickly on your 98.6 degree skin. Cool video anyway, five star!

At night try it In your own backyard use a flood light behind you, see the small particles floating down with the wind? Now if you touch it, it disappears on contact. there is no wet feel to it.

Be careful if buying one of these, as two middle aged fishermen were using them to scare ducks away from their lines. They were promptly arrested and had their fingerprints and DNA taken under the 'Air Navigation Order 2005' - They claimed the men were using laser pens to endanger aeroplanes flying overhead.

They were also used in the Greece riots to blind the police, which is prob why they are clamping down on these - I don't recommend either of these uses, even if they are chemtrailing.!

Sorry for not replying sooner - I have just had a look on Ebay and it looks like the law has changed because the highest  lasers listed are 1>mw, but I am sure the more expensive ones could be stronger (maybe send a message and ask). They used to sell 5>mw and may have some old stock left - I would recommend one of these ones if you can track one down.

@aslxk you're not going to find much with a laser pointer...what you need is a beam of white light, a monochrometer that can talk to a computer, a computer that knows how to scan some portion of the EM spectrum, something photovoltaic as a detector, an electron multiplier to make the signal more detectable, and you'll need some way to look at your sample while it's contained within a vacuum.

i'd reccommend an ion pump for that last one
