I like to try to block myself in a corner and get mass spine crawlers and when it hits the fan, i micro my probes into a suicide mission while advancing any unit I have into a Custer's last stand situation at the opponent's base. Yeah, I hardly ever win.

After watching this video, I tried the exact same thing the terran did, and I actually won. The game lasterd 56 minutes, and throughout it i had around 18 command centers. At the end, the protoss raged horribly about how rigged terran was and quit.

I think that could work in a map where there are minerals (not necessary yellow) in high ground blocked by destructible rocks and you focus on air units, enemy wold be disconcerted and would not know what strategy use against you. Imagine you play in a map with 4 posible start places, scout them and see no enemy, that would be crazy

because it's actually if great interest to Blizzard to see how people of all skill levels play this game. Not only to adjust the game so that it should be fun and somewhat balanced on all levels, like sc1 was, but also in order to better calibrate the maps and the pacing for the practice leagues

Probably not, since their shadow algorithm (shadow mapping) works in two passes, one for drawing objects "visible" from the light's POV and one for rendering the camera's POV. It would slow things down a lot if they had to *add* extra geometry in the first pass. There are ways to speed that up a bit but I doubt it's really worth it.

But then again, maybe Blizzard decided to be clever and implemented that. I don't have the beta, so I don't know :P

Haha an interesting strategy from the terran player. But a definite fail. I'm wondering if you had not scouted and he had started building if he would of been able to quickly outmass you, say in a 1v1? I'm sure it would of been smarter though to quickly build a second command and just float it over instead though. Lot of initial money lost at the startup.

its certainly possible, but its waaayyyyy to risk and the opponent will easily realize whats going on when theres no enemy base and at that point I think you lost so much time trying to move your base itll be too late, as I said you have 2 entrances to block which will make it nearly impossible to stop a rush.

So... if one side sent defensive froce, or harrass, and he went to the clsoer mineral patch, maybe with really tight team work it could work?

But if the opposing team scouted like they're supposed to and saw it, which they should, then they would catch it too early and it would be a 2v1 while the other player tried to defend his partners high yield. I think overall, it's a creative idea, but in a pro match, you won't see that happen.
