Living in the mountains was exceptional. The views were gorgeous and the people were friendly. Living in Tokyo, one of the largest (and unfortunately most expensive) cities in the world, has it's own wonderful things. While people are colder, expenses are higher, and living space is smaller, life beats at a faster pace and there is a kind of excitement being surrounded by so many people, lights and energy. I've enjoyed both very much.
wow thats actually pretty good! even though i live in a humongous house (in europe), i like living in very small spaces. when people told me that apartments in tokyo were tiny, i thought they meant like half that space, but this is pretty good! my family (5 people) has a house in switzerland and its only one room bigger than that, still very expensive :D
I spent quite a few years in places that size as well. But for the most part,I enjoyed my life and almost always had a nice young girl.Who needs a big house ?Unless you're married and have kids.Good luck to you and have a good time.
i know tokyo was a city but isnt it a prefecture ( metropolus ) now ...... im confused please help some people call it a city others call it a prefecture ..... how am i supposed to know
Because of the area, this apartment is almost $1000 USD per month (93,000 yen). Too high percentage of my income but its a nice experience though. I'm very thankful for all the good things I've been given.
God your so lucky~~ I want to live in Japan so badly!!!! The apartment is so CUTE~~~~~~ ^-^ If I went I don't know if I would want to live in Tokyo though.. Rent is pretty expensive! Just so darn cute though!! ✿
I came across your channel while searching for Tokyo videos. I visited there and Kawasaki on business in 2009. I really enjoy your videos and perspective. I'm sorry you left your "little house", the community there seemed so interesting. I'm sure the English Conversation Club misses you.
Great tour of your 'COZY' apartment. Looks like you are a great housekeeper too. Didn't see a closet. You do have a closet, right? How many square feet is your space?
@groenerl I do have a closet. It's about the size of the coat closet in the dining room. Yep, pretty small. Maybe a tad bit deeper thought. The room is 23 square meters. Google reports that that is about 250 square feet. That's including the toilet and shower rooms as well. I'm doing my best to keep it clean! MUCH easier than that monster house.
@usercreated I live in Yoyogihachiman area, next to Yoyogiuehara. I can walk to Harajuku and Shibuya and ride a train 5 minutes to Shinjuku. That and this building is only 4 years old. Not a cheap area to live in. ;)
(And not that I have much money to live here either but it's cozy)
hey i love your videos they give an awesome insight into japanese life from a westerners perspective. it would be cool if you could do some videos of places around tokyo, like corners that you wouldn't normally see as a tourist. i can hear some japanese creeping into your accent heh, but yeah, your videos are great.
@farboud201 Thanks very much. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. If I get a new iPhone this year then I'll probably make videos more often, but right now I'm just running on a 3G so no such video goodness.
