My friend was hiking in Mexico & one jumped out of the bush & bit his ankle hard. He had to get a rabies shot. I laugh when I think about it though!

Coatimundis are of the raccoon family...South American Raccoons.

Coatis are also found in Arizona and New Mexico. I have lived in the southwest but never saw one till I went to Belize. They are such darling animals. *****
