The movie is incorrect is some cases. I myself enjoyed the film but I noticed the German were carrying their rifles the wrong way. They usually only carry it with one hand

I know for a fact that most of the soldiers who took Baden in south germany were from North Africa because I have heard first hand accounts from the older generation living there and that was their experience.

I've seen this film in its entirety and I really have to admire the audacity of the creators to tackle such a subject as the discrimination of colonial and north african troops by the French in World War II. These men made up more than two thirds of the Free French Forces, but they were seen as expendable by their own commanders and unworthy of receiving equal treatment. It comes as no surprise it almost got the academy award for best foreign film in 2006.

Clearly a one sided film. How come the Grenadier unit enters the settlement in the middle of the street? No one does that unless he wants to die. How come a french soldier stands in the middle of a window while an MG42 shooting back only hits the sides of the window, or how come a guy with a pistol snipes 2 guys sprinting sideways but when he runs parallel to pursuing Germans he doesn't get hit by K98 fire? Disrespect to German Soldiers at its best, they were too trained and capable for that.

Es war doch unmoglich dass die Boesen Deutschen den Krieg gewinnen oder gut kampfen konnten, Dass koennen die guten Araber und Schwarzen der Franzosiche Armee so viel besser :D
