Here's a question that nobody's ever asked. Have any paid staff at KPFA ever voluntarily said I'll take a pay cut to help out the station budget? Or, it that specifically ruled out in their contracts?
All I'm hearing right now is different factions saying screw the listeners. We will win control at all costs. That's sad.
Props for KPFA for standing up for their Union Contract rights!
While KPFA is having a lot of challenges with in-fighting and budget issues, Pacific National is really making some big goofs in trying to set stuff right.
Another example of bad executive decisions and practice.
However, layoffs & screwing your employees never looks good.
Amazing situation for radio - a "fired' staff has it out with their "boss" on the air at the station where they were "fired" ... Can't think of another radio station where this would happen.
