Republicans said that a Public Option is not necessary. That to simply permit citizens to purchase their Health Insurance coverage over state line wouyld be sufficient to force Big Insurances to compete by bringing down the cost.

That is a lie. We can buy gas over state line and Big Oils do not lower their price at the pump.

Big Corporations stick together among themselves and do not cut each other throat...that's why a Public Option is the only way to force down their price..
