i got a samson c01u and im wondering what audio interface should i get that will work with this mic? its a usb mic btw... also will pro tools work? i need help im trying to have a little home studio
@dennisplus1 You sound like a dick really, I agree with you, and understand your point, but it seems like you wanted to sound superior, I don't even know what they originally wrote to you, but answering them that way doesn't really make you any better than them.
You could just let them know you are not poor, without showing off.
I know you probably don't care about what I tell you but it's just a suggestion, again you can just ignore it if you prefer. I don't want to fight, and won't.
@OZPerpetue you are completely right sir. I was just really infuriated with what they were saying. I usually just shrug things off but they were getting racial and personal for no reason at all. But I should have kept my cool. thanks for the comment man. I appreciate the whipping.
@Skeith0X lol . . .you don't really need all this it just makes things better. a computer some good software and a usb mic and you can do it. and if you can maybe an interface.
hey can you PLEASE tell me what are those YELLOW sheets you put it on the wall in the recording to kill the echo and where did you get them? PLEASE RESPOND
@benthemiester well obviously you haven't seen my other updates. I have a 25" LG HD monitor now. And as far as mixing monitors I have two JBL 2325 pro monitors to mix with. watch my other videos and tell me what you think. Thanks for your comment.
@martiallaw565 Never had a problem with things like that. My room was pretty isolated at this house in the video. I haven't recorded any drums since my move though. But I wouldn't imagine it to be a big problem with directional mics. Thanks for the comment
@eyadmadani lol thanks man! and I'm still getting more haha. I just picked up the brand new Quad Core Macbook Pro today. Tomorrow I'm getting these awesome sounding JBL Studio Monitors and it just keeps growing. It just takes patience and persistance.
@dennisplus1 I want that AKG Im using an MXL 990 for now, but I got the SE electronics reflexion filter, that makes a big diff in the vocal booth I made. I like how you have 16 channels with the firepods, Im using an fp10 presonus interface I just have the 8 channels but I never need more than that
@DannyPolDiaz yeah its been a good mic so far but It's time for me to upgrade as well. I need the 16 channels for whole band recordings. 8 for the drums, one for guitar, one for bass, one for keys, one or two for vocals and maybe another guitar. Trust me . . . I use them lol. But I'm planning on upgrading the interfaces too. Thanks for your comment man.
@dennisplus1 word, I figured you must have been recording a live band with that many I/Os, that's badass. I just do the drums first and add the rest later, I can't do it all live. Ha i noticed you have the same Kustom PA we have in our rehearsal room, we bought it like 7 years ago that thing is a beast. I'm about to get me a new ibanez, can't wait. I'm happy with my set up for now, until I start putting paychecks towards toys lol Take care bro check us out on fb, Make Them Docile
@TheAceOfTheCase No thank you for watching man. Soon I'll post another update I'm getting the MASCHINE, acoustic foam, and a few more things together. Again thanks for the comment.
@janopiano Yeah I'm shopping for some monitors now. I don't want powered ones though. As far as foam goes it "freak'n EXPENSIVE"! lol. But my goal for this year is to get everything that's left to get to really record some good tracks.
Hey man, thanks for the video. I've been checking this stuff out for awhile, like how to set up a home studio and shit. One question though, how much did your drum kits mics cost all up? And is it necessary to have one for each piece of the kit? Or can i get away with having just one, even if it makes for a less crisp tone. I understand it'll probably mean that the snare/hi-hat/crash hits and whatnot will blend in a bit, but yeah, is it not too bad?
@VilleSkateKrewRep Well if you watch my drum covers you'll actually notice I'm using a studio mic as my overhead and an SM57 for my bass drum and that's it. I have since got all the mics and can tell you the two mic set-up sound more raw and I actually like it better.
@dennisplus1 You ever used either a Samson mic or a Neumann mic? Nice studio, BTW! Also, you ever used Sonar 8(Producer version)or 8. 5 and you know if there's a fade out on Sonar while you're recording a song on it? Just asking, that's all! I like the drum set and guitars, too! Keep up the good work!
i have a home studio of my own, if i were you i would put more sound pad in your booth. your vox sound pretty valveishs, which is cool in some situations but not all. i have every wall and the door in my booth padded, and theres no echo or valve sound at all, i control this on the computer. try it, egg crates work perfect, you can get plenty at wal mart cheap. but dude, nice sound overall i like it!
@MrAlex69ish Thank for the advice man. I've actually moved since this video and haven't really set up or have a space for a vocal booth. I was thinking of get one of those sound isolators that go on the mic stand and surround the mic. We'll see what happens. I'll post the vid of the new place soon. Subscribe and you'll see it.
get a shockmount i got a akg 100 sounds amazing and your sound proof is good enough lol i use none listen to my song... mic in mid of room no foam at all no booth
@TheFreemi Hey what's up man. I use a few different programs but if you're talking about the free one it's called REAPER. You can find it at "reaper.fm" Hope this helps. Thanks for the comment.
@guitar6059 Lol. I actually upgraded to two 25 inch lg's. Thanks man. I paid about $1000 for the computer and $300 per monitor. $400 per each interface and too much to list appreciate the comment
For the price I would rate it at about a 6 or 7. Not one of the best mica but it gets the job done and anyone who isn't truly into music wouldn't notice the difference.

Small video monitor for such a big computer, but whatever works. Ever think about using real near field audio monitors? There a lot easier to mix on.
