Come on All Aang can do is throw 4 elements at ppl. But Naruto can burst through fire, break rocks into pieces, and dodge the water with his extreme speed and he has the Wind element which can go on par or even overpower Aangs air with his controlled Nine tails power and sage mode to back it up. If he ever finds a way to combine those 2 well theres not even a fight there. And 4 energy bending doesnt Aang need to stop his opponent from moving to do that. But everbody has their own opinion.

Aang can burst through and dispell fire in avatar state. aang runs as fast as wind, which is how he created a tornado fighting Bumi & blew away a stand in The Blue Spirit. aang also created a 100 foot wave before being taught the disciplines of water & a tsunami while healing from the lightning shot. it's close...
@TracksPyro Sage Mode and Avatar State aren't too far from each other. But Naruto's new form is just too much for Aang now mainly because of its speed. Even Sage mode speed is too quite much faster than Avatar State aAng anyway. Flight is the real maining saving Aang.

@aeonlag Sage Mode Naruto or 6 Tailed Naruto or above is enough to defeat Avatar State Aang. Also Base Aang will have much difficulty defeating Base Naruto. Base Naruto is much superior phsyical feats and speed, and everything. The only thing Regular Aang has over regular Naruto is that he could fly and has 4 elemental manipulation.

I remain skeptical about the upcoming sequel to ATLA. Although I know it's directed towards kids, I'm entitled to my own opinion - when I've put the "facts" together.

3. She's mastered THREE of the four elements. (We've seen the potential of masters limited to ONE element.)

Avatar form is the god power in Avatarverse but that doesn't mean it correlates with other fictional universes. In fiction. gods and demons are not created equal across interfictional lines so while Avatar form is impressive for that, there is no reason to start claiming he is "god" for against other series. If you bother to do it anyway. Instead lets just enjoy for what its worth.

Am I the only one who found Katara 's development similar to Sasuke's, by a "favorable" degree?
1. They're both the creator(s) favorites. (Well M&B stated Waterbenders are their favorite; and it SHOWED with Katara's role.)
2. They both "outshined" the protagonist - almost as if the series is really about THEM.

@aeonlag Sage Mode Naruto or 6 Tailed Naruto or above is enough to defeat Avatar State Aang. Also Base Aang will have much difficulty defeating Base Naruto. Base Naruto is much superior phsyical feats and speed, and everything. The only thing Regular Aang has over regular Naruto is that he could fly and has 4 elemental manipulation.

Kishi could've gave a WAY better reason to want to kill everything, now THAT'S being a bitch, pain was far better fit for final villain because he wanted to bring peace not destruction, kinda reminded me of light from death note(good anime if you haven't seen it)

I remain skeptical about the upcoming sequel to ATLA. Although I know it's directed towards kids, I'm entitled to my own opinion - when I've put the "facts" together.
1. Waterbenders are M&B's FAVORITE.
2. The next Avatar is a GIRL - from the Southern WaterTribe.
3. She's mastered THREE of the four elements. (We've seen the potential of masters limited to ONE element.)
In my opinion, she sounds like a Mary-Sue; and the storyline sounds like a rip-off of the X-Men.

@worldends08 I knew you were going to say that,and really I agree. Naruto could've been way better,what really pisses me off about it,is that anyone who doesn't have a direct tie with the Uchiha gets nothing but crap from kishi,look at the other teams, if it wasn't for filler nobody would swat about them.This is the reason I like avatar more than Naruto, in terms of quality,avatar is quick,it cuts the crap,and we don't have to hear about a guy who wants do nothing but end the world.

@muffins4456 (Everytime I read a chapter of One Piece, I think "If only Naruto could be HALF as creative & flexible with character development.") Characters DID get development; but it seemed exaggerated or was meant to stall story arcs - unlike Uchiha-related development. As a matter of act, I raised my hands in sarcasm/frustration when I found out an Uchiha was 'the' evil mastermind. At this point I don't care; Kishimoto has plans for a new manga, so he just wants to finish "Naruto."

@worldends08 *post continued* And sakura handled that white zestu neji with one punch, and you can't forget hinata, she's a little shy but that doesn't make her a bad ninja, she bought time for naruto when she was nearly killed by pain, and she didn't do half bad against neji in the chuinn exams back in part one, Naruto's representation of women isn't and never will be as good as avatar's but it really isn't THAT bad.

@muffins4456 (Their development is BAD if you've been reading every single chapter per week - since spring 2005/'06.) The signifigance of women is not the only reason I've grown bored with the Naruto manga.
The highlight of Part II seems to reiterate Naruto's bereavement of Sasuke to "the path of darkness"; not to mention his vapid improvement under Jiraiya's tutelage for 2.5 years.
I favor Avatar b/c it's NEW & FRESH, a nice blend of Anime-inspiration bleneded with Western ingenuity.

@worldends08 But you still gotta give credit to Naruto,because unlike most animes,the girls in Naruto aren't just big breasted eye candy for the male viewers, and they aren't bitchy and whining all the time,look at tsunade,she's considered equal to orochimaru and jiraiya and she happens to be hokage,sakura isn't useless and bitchy like everyone says she is,she took out sasori,sure she had a little help but this is a guy that made a mockery of the 3rd kazekage.

@worldends08 ya know, 'bout the whole female role thing, you really gotta think about where the two shows were made, and the culture in those places, avatar for example was made in the good 'ol US of A, where it is widely accepted that everyone is equal so the women get just as big a role as the men. Naruto on the other hand is made in Asia where it is widely accepted that women are inferior to men, that being said its really not a surprise that avatar would have a better role for women.

@kokolet123456 I know he's not a "god"; the Avatar is just a unique individual with incredible strength who is meant to maintain balance in the world. As for Ozai, he faced a fate that could be described as "poetic justice"; and, he definately wasn't impressive for the main villain. (Honestly, Azula fits the role for the main antagonist.)

@Speeker37 Definately broke the necessity for the same, overused character archetypes: the brash, ADD-affiliated main character; the aloof rival whose got the baddest moves/backstory/looks; & the busty female with deep issues or is mostly credited playing the "damsel in distress" role for the majority of the series. Honestly, the beginning of Naruto had potential; but the whole storyline has fallen to the supremecy of the Uchiha & their story.

Avatar: TLA has a great soundtrack & a better role for female characters (They're practically THE stars); while Naruto - disregarding the Uchiha as the integral factor in the plot - portrayed a realistic atmosphere regarding international ties between the Ninja villages/nations. with Avatar:TLA, it's all "peace & tranquility" now that: Ozai's been defeated, Zuko's the FireLord & Aang's a fully-realized Avatar. (Let's all merrily skip away toward the sunset....Heck no.)

1. People DO cosplay as Avatar characters. (Maybe not so much now b/c the first series has been finished for three years; but now, they'll be back when the sequel series is released.
2. More episodes isn't always a GOOD factor.
3. Honestly, the manga is better than the quality of the anime nowadays. (At least ATLA has the upcoming graphic novels coming out next year.)

@TheZKProductions I know Naruto's products (games & toys) have excelled Avatar:TLA franchise. (It's probably why the sequel wants to incorporate motorcycles & cars - so they can profit from all the toys' profit.) Still, you'd think if they had the money, they'd step it up in animation quality. (YES, I know Japan is an a HORRIBLE situation now.)

Avatar form is the god power in Avatarverse but that doesn't mean it correlates with other fictional universes. In fiction. gods and demons are not created equal across interfictional lines so while Avatar form is impressive for that, there is no reason to start claiming he is "god" for against other series. If you bother to do it anyway. Instead lets just enjoy for what its worth.

@321zigzag1 Hmm, the power is "God-like"; but it does have it's cons. I mean, the RikuudoSennin may be considered "Godlike" after he sealed the Juubi inside his body. Plus, his power was never seen again- for some time - which is more rare & legendary compared to the time lapse between the Avatar line.

@321zigzag1 Respectively, I admire both shows; they just went in different directions. (Avatar kept a homey, group atmosphere, while Naruto, I feel, went on to advocate the ever popular Uchiha. I do suspect Avatar will follow the "creator's favorite" path; just like Kishimoto adores the Uchiha, M&B adore Waterbenders. Even though she has to learn Airbending, Korra is gonna make Aang look like a chump.)
