Dude, hot chicks on pogo sticks are pretty fuckin awesome. My old band played a couple of shows with em and they put on a crazy live show. I heard a little bit of their new stuff they're comin out with this summer, and it sounds amazing. Can't wait to hear the finished product.

Also, I think Vanishing Point should get a mention. They're a prog metal band in Australia. Don't know how "local" they are since they have supported some huge bands like Iron Maiden, Dragonforce, Nightwish and Sonata Arctica but they still seem to be relatively unknown.
