This was really a horrible interview. Meryl seems very uncomfortable and the view ladies just interrupt and step on each other. As a result, no cohesive conversation or dialogue. Maybe that's what Meryl so skittish. I am also surprised at how much male bashing went on. I've heard this before from Meryl and am disappointed. You expect it from the View women but I am surprised by Meryl. It's as if none of them like men. Too bad. Meryl has had a lot of opportunity in spite of her gender.

What they said about how it was/is for women in our society is true, and as far I could see, they only really talked about the woman's point of view.

I actually saw the movie on January 16. It was a huge disappointment. How would we feel if they made a movie about President Ronald Reagan and devoted 50% of the film to his private life as he was dying from Alzheimer's Disease? At least 50% of "The Iron Lady"is devoted to Lady Thatchers life in 2005, two years after the death of her husband.Her career is surveyed in a series of confusing flashbacks,which is an acceptable mode of presenting history, but not when the story is cut short!
I was discussing the Iron Lady with a friend today during a lecture - baring in mind im 18 years old and a friend said she didnt want to watch it because its a "granny movie" and since we're both from Britian i thought well isnt it worth going to get gain some knowledge on pivotal British history - and Meryl Streep alone should make you want to watch it, its a highly subjective film and i dare say that Meryl deserves the Oscar this year!
STREEP IS AMAZING... I am British and watched Streep electrify the screen and cinema... Meryl Streep is an incredible actress. This has to win another Oscar for her... as for The View, I agree, only Whoopi Goldberg is good, giving Meryl time to answer a very good question. So a film about a BRITISH Prime Minister is being released to theatres in the US before it's being released in the UK?? (6th January I think it is over here) I don't understand

@thisistheending it's to do with getting it in the running for the Oscars... Anything released after December is not eligible.

@vibeuk2003 Aaaaah ok..makes sense now! I don't watch the Oscars, of the BAFTA's for that matter....after watching this film though, winning either of them will be no problem for Streep or even any of the other actors in it!

@thisistheending No, it was released in limited theatres in the US for some reason, but won't be fully released until January 13th.

Love Meryl but I didn't like this interview that much. I hate it when all 5 ladies are there. All they do is talk over each other. Whoopi is the only one I enjoy. She actually let the guest answer the question. Barbra this interview isn't about you. Please stay home when Mrs. Streep is there next time.

Did not like this interveiw. Could have left out Barbara's interveiw and focused more on Meryl's role. I don't know, Meryl was very stiff here, not her normal playful self.
