But where is the check and balance? Even if those in office are honorable, this in the wrong hands can easily be abused, and THAT is the problem.
Everybody in Newark should go and get their own AK47 now. If they are criminals, they will be instantly caught. If they are law abiding citizens, the police have nothing to worry about, so they should not have any issue with it.

Big brother is watching you! How much did that cost? How about spending that kind of money to rebuild Newark. This is illegal surveillance of American citizens. It's great that you guys want to make changes but you have been making but people should have privacy. The police and citizen team building should be strengthen so people will willing give vital information to help solve crimes. More and more our personal freedoms are slowly stripped away. This is not good.

@jmartecep What are you talking about? This are cameras in public places. The guy even told you that instead of having cops on every corner they have other means of monitoring them. Again, those are public places and not people's bedrooms. Relax.

Ok, but what's next. We have cameras that's the first step. What's going to be the next inovation of crime fighting? The money could be spent on better ways in my opinion. Welfare reform, public school reform and I mean learning not security. Right now our kids learn to pass standardized tests, not good. How about learning to be critical thinkers instead. Police and citizen relation would help too, because citizens would be ready to get involved in the community.

Love this idea. Love the work Cory Booker and his team is doing. I hope there are cameras on chancellor ave. I don't know what going on too much, afraid to leave the house once the sun goes down. Ashame!
