  • Vodka is still a soft drink.

  • The legal drinking age in the Netherlands is 16 for alcohol <15%, but since about 10 years that law is quite strict (about 15 years ago, when I was 10, I would buy my dad some beers, and no questions were asked, that's no longer possible). But strict laws lead to more binge drinking by kids when they do get their hands on alcohol... The more restrictions you put on alcohol, the more of a problem it causes... But I doubt the Russians can make this law a strict one.

  • I like Ana's little shimmy at the end. "It's a matador, matadorrrrr"

  • @Dak0taTh0mps0n i finally understand the reference.. Did ana go to northridge? my notebook rocks te matador

  • N'awww Cenk, we love you too ^w^

  • In Soviet Russia, beer drinks you!

  • Note to self, 2 beers

  • Lol you guys should come up to Canada and see how we sell our alcohol. There is no mom and pop liquor store here. You can only get cases of beer from the beer store and bottles of liquor from the liquor store. It's also a lot more expensive here than the states. They're not open 24 hours either and are regulated by the provinces.

Licensed establishments like bars and restaurants can only sell between 10 am and 2 am.

  • @Keiranforreal Uh... I live in Canada at the moment, and I can buy cases of beer at the gas station, along with sangria and other low-alcohol beverages. Admittedly, they aren't open 24/7.

  • @DirectInjected Well I live in Ontario and there is no where to get beer here other than The Beer store or LCBO. Maybe it's a little different out west. This province keeps that shit on the lock down though.

  • why did they have to ruin this video with ben's presence

  • note to self: get Ana drunk

  • 1:36 most stereotypical situation i've ever heard

  • fuckin loada yank-assed anti-Russian racists.

  • REZNOV! thumbs up if you get the reference

  • That Russian Bear stuff doesn't look to bad

  • I read somewhere, but can't cite it, so your BS alarm should be buzzing, that nearly 2/3 of Russian men were legally drunk at the time of death. I'd say that's a sobering statistic, but...

  • I'm starting to get really pissed off at TYT. Everytime they "report" about something that happens in another country they ALWAYS get all the facts wrong. Sigh.....

  • @Shonenut213 *sigh*

  • Most of Europe doesn't seem beer as something "hard". In Germany, a 14 year old can order a beer as long as his parents are with him. Now, if you go to a pub, you could still get a beer at 14 ;) haha. 16 is the legal age when Germans can buy beer anytime and anywhere alone. Public drinking is also completely legal. Leave America just for a day, you'll realize the world is different.

  • As a resident of Ontario I wish we could by beer and wine in places other than the LCBO and Brewers Retail. In most places if you run out of beer at 10pm on a Saturday night you're out of luck. That and the ridiculous prices we pay for booze, for six Bud Light Limes we pay about $12. It's absurd.

  • pathetic

  • Looking at the map, why aren't any Russians watching this? Did the government ban this vid?

  • @andrewsaccount09 Actually the map shows that there have been few hits in Russia but very few. Why? Nobody there watches English shows in the first place.

  • In Soviet Union, Beer drinks you!

  • GOOD FOR THE VODKA LOBBY!!!

  • I'm a long time fan of TYT, but I got to say that TYT has a track record of reporting false facts when it comes to international stories. They have reported false facts about the Norwegian punishment laws of homicide, Saudi Arabia's citizens views of the Saudi royal family, and now this. I guess they pissed off some russians with this video like junkCCCP. Just like how they pissed off Norwegians, Australians, Saudis with their other videos.

  • Alcoholism has been a problem in Russia for long time, I have book of Soviet era poster a number of them are anti-Alcoholism

  • Alcohol is such a bigger issue in Russia than here, which is crazy being so many are killed here each year by it, but in Russia it's a fucking plague.

  • What do you expect? We are the people who made vodka.

  • Did anyone else pretend Ana was nude for the first 10 seconds?

  • @Treknologist No, I pretty much pretend that all the time.

  • I wanna feel the softness of Ana's boob.

  • wtf! you can buy beer at a petrol station in america?!?!! that's messed up

  • @eternalcrumpet You can buy a case of beer at the gas station , it's not like they're saleing it with the fountain drinks or like you could buy 20 0z and drink anywhere . You're still not allowed to drink in cars or public places .

  • @eternalcrumpet May I ask where you live?

  • @eternalcrumpet Have to agree. It's like encouraging people to drink and drive! Do they also sell automatic weapons at McDonald's?

  • @leizuoer that would not surprise me at all but can't be too sure since i'm from england. i have heard of certain types of bank accounts however where when you open it, the bank gives you a free rifle. now that's just encouraging you to rob banks!!

  • I still don't get why our drinking age isn't 18. Why aren't more people behind lowering the age in the states? WE CAN GO TO WAR BUT CANT HAVE A DRINK??? Almost all problems in america are cause by the no-conservatives.

  • @bulbinking neo-conservatives.....and alcohol is not a top issue now.

  • @bulbinking The problems in our country are caused by politicians and those who support them. And while I agree with you, that the drinking age should be reduced seeing as you are officially an adult and should be able to do whatever the hell you (legally) want, there are much bigger issues in this country than your desire to get smashed. Cool your jet Charlie Sheen.

  • You have no idea what you are talking about :) i'm russian, and this is bullshit, it never been a soft drink

  • who thought she was naked at the very beginning of the video

  • Beer for breakfast, What a county.

  • the way they put it sounds pretty funny but actually is completely wrong ... This is a TYT fail ...

  • Vat ees beer?

  • nikolia drinks vodka like a man!!

  • Culturally, Chinese prefer wine over beer, vodka, whiskey or whatever.

  • @ktchong what kind of whine did they make? was it white wine or somehting?

  • @XvChriisvX Chinese "wine" is somewhat different from Western wine. It is difficult to use Western terminology to classify Chinese alcoholic beverage. Wikipedia has a good article on it: "Chinese alcoholic beverages." According to Wikipedia article, "History of alcoholic beverages", China was actually the first civilization/country to develop alcohol beverage.

  • @ktchong oh wow thats really cool, is chinese "whine" like japanese saki or something? idek what saki is i just know its alcoholic

  • lol beer just introduced? please get your facts straight TYT.

    stereotypes.

  • stereotypes :/

  • Oh shit...Why wasn't I told this before? God damnit I would have moved to Russia.

  • In Russia, Vodka runs in taps.

  • @DerrenBrown100 ahahaha

  • What? Less than ten percent? Please. I jump in it.

  • LOL there is no curbing alcohol abuse in Russia. Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever gonna happen. By far the drunkest place on the planet and always will be.

  • I would do a story with Ana all night long.

  • NOOOO, Russia say it aint so.

  • Shit son, that's some heavy duty beer. Here its normally like 4? the 'heavy' beers range from 8-20. But regular beer at 8 percent? Sweet mother.

  • @Direksone

"Regular beer" is at around 5.5-6.5% ABV here. 9% is already considered "strong".

  • @JunkCCCP yea haha here too around those percentages. Strong starts at 7-8% but we have beers that are like 20 percent, freaking disgusting tbh:p. I like 'light' beers, with that I don't mean bullshit like 'bud light' 'cause American beer is a joke tbh. I mean beers like La Chouffe, Jupiler, Duvel and other white beers and such.

  • Ben, you don't know what a public transport stop is?

Wow. Someone had a privileged upbringing!

  • It was never classed as a "soft drink", it was a low-alcohol-content beverage. Russia used to have two different alcoholic drink laws, low-alcohol-content drinks like beer and stuff like that you could buy anywhere at any time, but you needed to be 18 years or older to buy it. High-alcohol-content beverages like whiskey, vodka, etc were only sold in stores and you couldn't buy them between 11 pm and 7 am.

I live in Russia at the moment. Disappointed in the lack of accuracy, TYT.

  • @JunkCCCP lol that's so leniant. I have to wait 2 more years to buy ANY kind of alcohol whatsoever in the states.... 21 with no exceptions

  • @kylem1112

Well, that's the States. From what I've heard and read, most European countries' drinking age is 18. It makes little sense to me that a person is allowed to drive a car at age 16, allowed to go serve in the military and shoot people at age 18, but the government thinks they're too irresponsible to drink beer until they're 21.

  • @JunkCCCP you want accuracy? russia is a shithole, corrupt and rotten to the core.

  • @ganonforce Isn't that every government/country nowadays?

  • @Ansonidak ganonforce is a professional anti-Russian troll

  • @ganonforce

Thanks for the eye-opener. It's not as if I don't know all of this already.

  • @ganonforce Probably about as corrupt as America to be honest.

  • @JunkCCCP I know how you feel. Whenever TYT does something from a foreign country, more often than not they get it wrong and their ignorance is shown.

  • @JunkCCCP

Ana does the research for these entertainment stories. she never gets her facts right.

  • @JunkCCCP what do you expect? theyve never lived in Russia and you expect them to be experts at knowing the alcohol laws lol be real. the main point of the story was that beer wasnt in the same class as hard liquor even though it can get you just as fucked up if you drink enough of it

  • @JunkCCCP Many states in the US have similar laws. For example in Virginia, you can buy beer and wine at your grocery store. If you want to buy liquor, like whiskey or vodka, you have to go to a state run store, that closes at 9pm and isn't open on Sundays.

  • @Kothag Seriously?? A state-run store?? In the US?

  • @JunkCCCP

Oh please like anybody east of Berlin actually pays attention to laws relating to restriction of alcohol. Any teenager can walk into almost any store and buy hard liquor. Ive lived in Bulgaria and its like that there, and my Russian friends tell me its pretty much the same in Russia.

  • @dudesonman4200 be that as it may, the story is about the laws, and it is wildly inaccurate.

  • @JunkCCCP Sometimes they get things wrong about my country (Australia) but I don't really mind. They focus on American news, not world news, so its understandable that they get a few things wrong here and there.

They are mostly accurate and they really do try to get things right and to understand the laws of other countries.

  • @JunkCCCP If you are correct, then well said. TYT is likely making fun OF and overstating the SEVERE alcoholism problem in Russia. I don't even think there is an American beer manufacturer that would produce a beer over 9%. However, we do offer those stupid, large, colorful cans aimed at young people (that taste like soft drinks) like 4 Loko which are simply killers at 12 %, plus caffeine.

  • @JunkCCCP nobody gives a fuck about accuracy on russia pal, you guys are has-beens your a third world unimportant country now, we dont care about impressing you

  • @WarThug13

Accuracy in reporting is important even if the topic isn't. It's nice that you have to talk shit about something in order to make yourself feel better about your own country, though. Keep on thuggin', G.

  • @WarThug13 Cool man.

  • @WarThug13 enjoy your default, idiot.

  • @shtakett truth stings doesnt it? idiot.

  • @WarThug13 what truth, idiot? This truth?

    watch?v=jl2JQfxnnHU

  • @shtakett wtf did you jsut link me some illuminati conspiracy shit? get a fucking life rusky hog

  • @JunkCCCP They are probably just reading off of one source of information. Yes, bad job not checking multiple sources if that is the case.

  • @JunkCCCP what are you doing over there if you dont mind me asking and wats it like over there.

  • @Desi9

I don't mind. I'm Russian by birth, spent most of my life in the US until the government fucked my parents over and deported them on a technicality after 9/11 happened and they started kicking everyone out.

It's not very good. The wealth disparity here is pretty huge, on average people make around 300 dollars a month, housing costs are rising, imported goods are expensive, there's insane amounts of corruption in the government and in business. I'm planning on leaving in a year or two.

  • @JunkCCCP oo ic, well take care bro and i hope everything works out for u!

  • @JunkCCCP I heard that the spirits sale hours limitation rule was only in Moscow, or am i wrong?

  • @Norwegiian

No, it's everywhere in the country.

  • FFS American beer is like 3-4% alcohol. Now THAt's a soft drink. you f#ng light-weights.

  • Like really, why do you care?! Russians are actually more interesting than these sophisticated, critical, boring fucks! Pick another topic to talk about!

  • @nikkijaneallison

Are you always this much of a spaz?

  • Russians are... fuckin badass

  • What age do ya need to be in Russia to drink these so called soft drinks before the upgrade to beer?

  • gotta lov de russians :)

  • Ana needs to flash her boobs and stfu.

  • @MilkeyCocoa haters need 2 stfu

  • @cruelbusiness1984 fags need to go watch gayporn gtfo

  • anyone see ana's dress. holy shiz...

  • 2 beers? anas a lightweight!

  • Thats why Russia has so many problems..

  • Ana is GORGEOUS! <3 Love her! ; ]

  • What? That's not true - you can't legally buy beer in Russia if you're under 18, at least you can't in the only cities that matter - St. Petersburg and Moscow.

  • Vodka in Russian means "nectar of potato"...really, look it up

  • Ben doesn't know what a public transport stop is? is he stupid?

  • in Soviet Russia, the TYT watches you.

  • [Enter clever Russia joke in here].

  • FPS Russia will be pissed...

  • @bryant8133 hes american

  • @bryant8133 No, just pissed off.

  • @bryant8133 he would be if he was actually Russian.

  • Lol wow

  • LMAO wow!

  • Just curious, as to who SCREWED up your subtitles?

... other than that, totally funny story!!

  • I like how americans are not weirded oit that there gas stations sell beer, i think it is lol. They dont in canada

  • @superkdluver

how is that weird? they sell cigarettes at gas stations

  • @OrangeSaint420 Cigarettes don't intoxicate people in the same way as alcohol. Alcohol can severely impair judgement, reduce reaction time and coordination. This is why governments see it as a good idea to limit the places that sell alcohol, and the times at which it can be purchased. Not saying I agree with it, but you can understand why the laws involving the sale of cigarettes are generally more lenient.

  • @superkdluver Gas stations sell beer in basically every country in the world save for North America.

  • @dagrimmreepa

I don't know what gas stations you've been to, but most of them everywhere I've lived in the US sell beer.

  • @grenworthshero Oh, well I've been to US like twice, and never to gas stations :p I just assumed that the guy was talking from the perspective of North America. Here in Canada there's no beer in gas stations - and it really sucks!

  • @dagrimmreepa yeah, it would really suck. beer is sold @ gas stations cuz some small towns in most states, mainly central us, its the only store with in a half hour. u get everything there from groceries 2 tide ya over till u can make it 2 'town' 2 medicine 2 beer. its not so people can drink after getting gas. u might hav known but i'm just pointin it out 4 youtube world

  • @grenworthshero yeah the guy's just trolling :p

  • Fuck MSNBC. Sorry, I had to say that.

  • According to YT, the last 6 videos that JUST showed in my TYT sub section, were posted 3 days ago. When videos arrive late to the list, they are just inserted into the menu as if they were always there. So I suppose I could backspace to 3 days ago and find them sitting there, pretty as you please.

    Welcome to the payback Cenk.

CNN friendly piano playing cats are what they want, NOT breakout threats to big media.

YT wants to be an accessory to the mainstream, not an alternative.

    All hail Synergy!

  • haha i love russians, i lived there for 3 years and in the winter id always see guys walking around drinking vodka. compared to real mans liquor (vodka, jagermeister, tequila, whiskey) beer is like sprite

  • In Soviet Russia...

    SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • When I saw the itle, at first I thought it was an Onion video.

  • CCCP.

  • In russian vodka roughly translate to water of life

  • My first though on reading the title was: ''yeah, and wodka is a softdrink'' but I suppose everybody thought that.

  • damn russia sounds pretty gangster... remind me to visit. lol

  • beer ist gay

  • Comment removed

  • Opulence... I has it... And now I has Vodka! For the Motherland!

  • I think most of my friends would consider beer a soft drink.

  • Why choose between Vodka or Beer? when you can have them both!

  • Drinking beer make you child strong, like polar bear!!!

  • In Russia, more vodka is sold each year than MILK. I'm not kidding, look it up!

  • I jump in it <3

  • See? I told you that Soda Popinski wasn't just a crude ethnic stereotype!

  • Wtf is that little jew talking about? Russians drank beer since like it was invented, all Europe has. Even during empire years. So I dont know wtf this idiot talking about that because of capitalism Russians started drinking beer. Europe is mother land of beer you fucking idiot. And Russia is where?! Europe, well its western part, which is most populated. Do some research first before saying some stupid shit.

  • @luckyStrike89ru Even if his beer history is lacking the vodka lobby certainly had something to do with this.

  • @luckyStrike89ru Beer was invented something like 10,000 year ago in the midlle east.

  • @kokofan50 Im talking about good quality beer. Not arab shitty beer.

  • @luckyStrike89ru first off why the fuck do you go off calling him a little jew? racist prick. second he is right because even though russians have been drinking beer for a long time it is not their drink of choice and was always put aside in favor of vodka or other strong liquor.

  • @luckyStrike89ru I see you did not sense the sarcasm.

  • Who needs miller light when if there is Russian bear beer lol.

  • Damn totalitarianism...

  • Comment removed
