  • It's kind of silly to watch something if you know your going to get upset looking at it. I mean it's clearly a cut off squid head before you even start watching it. So you know exactly where the videos headed people come on.

  • SICK.....!!!!!!!

  • absolutely torture

  • squids brains are not in the head, but close to where the eyes are. This fucker most definitively is alive, tasty or not. But if you don't enjoy eating animals that "suffered horrible deaths" go vegan. Let us top o' the chainers enjoy.

  • @MrLembcke

I'm unsure about this, because the organs are up in the head.

Even if the brain is intact, it may of still died,

  • The squid is not alive. If you cut the tentacles sepratly, many times they will do this. It's brain is gone, even is it's moving, it's not feeling any pain. Plus, in a food bussiness, it is too much a hassle to rush anything to a table that is dying just for the peoples entertainment. Do you understand how quickly the would have to get this thing to the table if they cut its head off and still wanted you to see it in pain? Quicker than if you wanted to see me writh in pain after such an event.

  • @MissDandyDane can clearly see some activities going on around it head...between the eyes...

  • @toansj It does not matter what activity is going on. It is the fact that after 4 years of biology and health sciences classes, tells me that this squid is dead. ANd for those of you who have not attended such schooling- the squid is stuffed. If I go to cook frog legs, I will cut the legs off of the body. (I encourage you to enlighten yourself with this expirement) Then I will salt thema nd the toes and muscles will twitch. THE LEGS ARE DISCONNECTED. AND MOVING.

  • SCIENTIFICALLY- it is the ATP cells reacting with the sodium. In short- there are cells that live off of the sodium and sugars your body ingests. When something like a frog or a sea creature is killed, the ATP has so long before it starves. And when you pour sodium (salt- or soy suace) on those cells, they react by moving the tissues they control. Which ranges from eye ball movement to fingers grasping things.

  • @MissDandyDane Thank you so much for a clear explanation!! Now I don't feel so guilty if I'm happen to try this dish in Japan. LOL XD
