  • are these real or a joke

  • @Ruzlier Obviously I don't need to answer that question -.-

  • @jamiebookofshadows NO because i made fun of a girl for having a spell book and she said its for a religion and when we made fun of her for that she said its a real religion and snitched and we got introuble, but there is no way this isnt a joke

I just finished watching all of your tutorials and they are great i just hope i can do as good of a job as you did. Have you ever tried to make a book using wood?

  • @GARose57 thanks! Yes I use mdf, which is chipped wood, but solely using wood for a book would be tricky :D

  • hi please send me you mail the book page completely masked both there glued to email mxladas@seznam.cz you keep it under 6:22 thanks for the picture

  • Your tutorials have been brilliant Jamie, very clear and concise and a pleasure to watch and follow, I actually had an old leather bound postcard album from 1914 which was in a very bad state and I was able to use your methods to restore the spine and and use binding/chicago screws to add new papers to it, which is going to work very well as my personal book of shadows, so thank you dear and keep on doing what your doing x

  • @caberet your welcome! congrats! :)

  • Wow! thank you so much for me who lives in Brazil, is a little hard to find tips like this! I loved your videos spread around here ^ ^

Which paint did you mix the matt varnish with? It looks like the brown (Raw Umber), but in your cup and as your painting it onto the book, it looks like the green (Sap Green) color. I'm confused :/ lol

  • @Jeffa101 a little smaller than a4, and regular office paper ;)

  • Dunno if this has been asked yet or anything, but about how much did you spend in total for the materials for the entire book?

  • @Aykerusey in total about 20 -30 $

  • HI jamie... I have just a little request. I will be very grateful to you if you could tell me the measures of your bos cover. thanks =))

P.s. YOUR BOS IS WONDERFUL, I TOTALLY ADORE IT. =))

  • @MrSettembre1994 it is a4 with an inch cut off the top ;)

  • Thank you so much. This video helped me a ton!!

  • @jamiebookofshadows

I'm going to be watching this video to creat my own as well, but i'm wondering what size should i get for a 2000 page set for binding screws? and where do i find the binding screw holder's at? can you tell me?

  • @23Charmedfan

With 2000 pages, it is not easy to read the text because with this binding method there will be a large bulk on the center of the book (I don't know how to call it either) and that makes it hard to read. I have about 500 pages and these pages are as large as Jamie's (exactly: a bit bigger).

  • you r so good at ur jobish thing rock on!

  • how do u put in the pages?

  • @coolkittyme with the nails, its simple

  • wow youve done a great job! I really like how you decided to not make it shiney that was the best descision to go with. Its suppose to look way old, not like it might be new. Ya know? So, great job! 2 thumbs up!

  • @MeanInPink thanks :D

  • @jamiebookofshadows your welcome =)

  • @jamiebookofshadows where do you get the pages from? Like the potions, demons, spells and creatures, where do you find those pages?

  • that book stand is an antique they dont make those anymore where did you get the stand and how much? it must cost alot

  • @dissniggaj90 i got it on ebay for $120

  • Hey Jamie!

Love the book of shadows tutorials.

Do you think you could do a tutorial on how to coffee a page.

I've tried it but it just doesn't look right. :)

  • @zachattackpro i dunno, maybe ;)

  • looked great til you painted it. but all and all its cool

  • @dannydidge i like it more when its painted :)

  • I've put up a video showing my charmed book of shadows that I made with the help of these tutorials (but it's not completely done!), please go to my profile and watch it! And also comment :)

  • @whypineapple I have put up more videos, please watch and comment! :) subscribe for updates of the progress of finishing the complete book with all of the pages.

  • This is WONDERFUL!!

How do you put in paper though?

  • @LadySkylerNightStar you punch holes in the paper and feed it through the screws and close the screws top ;)

  • @jamiebookofshadows

    Well, ok. Obvious much. lol

I was just wondering if there was an easier way than that for several hundreds of papers. ha ha.

    I am SO making this.

  • @LadySkylerNightStar really this is the easiest way. you could either do it this way, or stitch each page into a book. but that is way harder, and longer

  • @jamiebookofshadows

    Well, ok. Obvious much. lol

I was just wondering if there was an easier way than that for several hundreds of papers. ha ha.

    I am SO making this.

  • Hi, i accidentally bought red and green oil paint, while the aging paint is acrylic. Can I still paint the aging paint over even though they aren't all acrylic and can I use the varnish on both those paints?? I know that oil paint has to dry longer, but does it matter that it is oil paint and not acrylic?? bc i don't want to destroy everything.. :/

  • @whypineapple NO! only use acrylic! lol oil paint will not suit a book cover, return the paints, and swap it for acrylic. im sure the shop owner wont mind ;)

  • @jamiebookofshadows pk, thanks! i'm rly happy that i asked before i used it! :P now i'll have to go and return it haha .. :/

  • @jamiebookofshadows i got the acrylic paint ! :) im almost done. i just have the painting, aging and the endpapers left. i thought that i would make a video showing the end result. i'm really proud of myself, i have never done something like this before, but my book still looks so authentic. and i'm not even finished yet! once again thanks for the tutorials!! :)

  • the end result looks really authentic ! :) such a great job! and also thanks for sharing these tutorials with us, i don't think i would be able to do a charmed bos without them. they are so helpful, can't wait to see your next tutorials that are charmed related! :D

  • @whypineapple Thanks! I'm glad they helped you, and you like them :D

  • hey i was wondering how u got the endpages to cover the whole of the paper coz wen i printed mine out only a small part of the page was printed

  • @wtf50895 depends on ur print process, you can print through windows paint, and adjust it to have no margin in the print setup, or though photoshop or something

  • Hi @jamiebookofshadows

I was wondering...u did a video about it the triquatra charmed symbol how did u do it I don't understand the video!!:) great work

  • @mrdannyboii10 I can't really explain it any better than I already have in the video, I'm sorry :(

  • where did you get the paint from?

    and for how much?

  • @mcote63 art and hobbies, 6 euros

  • As there have to upload the pages? Wherefore, they are free do not know how it got there firmly in it: (

  • @FLOPES131 I don't understand, you must be using a bad translator...

  • Well, I´m from Czech .. but now I understand it: D

  • you know what jamie? this whole series was nothing short of spectacular. I just sat through the whole series & I am blown away! I cannot even imagine that you have only 10 ratings on this (2 of them mine)!

I completely got it until 6 (I think) where the leather went inside the book & you came back w/ 2 pieces from a cereal box. I got lost & I could not hear or figure out the size of them/how far in to do the holes?

Has paint rubbed off the faux leather at all? Do you prime it before painting?

  • @hipretty well thanks! :D umm, the card strips to hold the nails are =

(what ever length your bos is) x (about three times the thickness of the nail).

and no my paint is fine as it is :D

  • Dude, thanks so much for this! You are a champion, I really want to know:

    - where you got the image to put in the inside of the covers?

    - How you did your pages!

    thanks again mate!

    cheers

  • Heya Jamie. This is fantastic! Thank you so much for posting this! Can I ask where you got the stand you use for it? Did you make that too?

  • @YeroTheHero No the stand is an antique from ebay :)

  • hello jamie!!! wow! oh my gosh!your tutorial has helped me so much you cannot even believe how much! i was stumped until i tumbled over your video!! i swear i could just marry you right now!!! but i won't because that would be creepy!lol! now i can continue on my path! thank you sooo much! you should make a book!

and i would also want to ask you if you could make a tutorial for making pages seem old. i want the video from you just you! lol! that would be great. and thank you so much! <3 u!

  • @Christopher52488 Nope, sorry ;)

  • thanks for this Jamie ! :D

One question: I've painted my book a while ago ( a week before) and everytime I touch it, my fingers stick on it. btw the colours that I used for painting are acrylic.

    What should I do ?

    thank you :D

    Nick

  • @rbdnikola That's why I put the Matt Varnish on mine ;) I knew it would be a problem ;) A coat or two of that stuff and it's perfect ;D

  • @jamiebookofshadows oh ..thank you :D I am gonna buy it :D btw do the colour change when you paint it ? :D

    thanks again

  • @rbdnikola It's only changed the colour in my vid because I added some paint, but without the paint it wont' :)
