Unbelievable! Just saw a segment on Weekend Today with Amy Robach on the new "Women Who Rock" exhibit at the Rock "N' Roll Hall of Fame. They had Goldie and the Gingerbreads, but not the Luv'd Ones. OK, they might have been the first all-girl band to chart anywhere, but they were still a pop band. The Luv'd Ones were grittier. I guess charting and TV appearances were the difference.
In 2011, Char's personal assistant, and one of her musicians from the 1980s who had stayed in touch over the years, decided to put together a CD of Char's 1979 studio recordings and a website to sell the CD Independently. As the CD project "Better Look Out" progressed they decided to release it world wide on several services that sell Indie Rock to the masses including CDBaby, iTunes, Amazon, etc...
this band impressed me a lot, I discovered three years in one of these blogs have a song that deserves special mention. I think the name is walk me to the door. sorry for my bad english

Don't know if there is a website for this band, but there is one for Char (Charlotte Vinnedge) she was the sister of Chris and the bandleader. Go for Facebook and theElectricLady.
On the picture its Chris on the left and Char second.
@madalbe: Was wondering the exact same thing! I checked my cd sleeve and it says 'come on in' is a bonniwell original so yeah, I think this ought to be a cover!
It would be sweet if the remaining Luv'd Ones could set up their own web site so we could interact with them and carry their magnificent body of work into posterity.
Great to see someone related to the Luv'd Ones. would be great if more recordings and hopefully any surviving footage & photos could become available. Luv'd Ones popularity is finally kicking in with a ever growing cult following. you're mom was a superb bassist & in my opinion the best female rock band EVER!
100th like from me.

According to the CD sleeve, this is in fact a live recording, which makes it stand out even more from the releases and demos on that album.

Also of interest is that Char Vinnedge went onto record the one off album "Nitro Function" in1971.
The band was formed by former Jimi Hendrix bassist Billy Cox and was very much in that style = Hendrix inspired power trio.
They recorded on the album of the Luv'd Ones song "Portrait".
The orig. vinyl import only album is collectable, but there's a cd I've seen for sale.
Not sure how legit it is though.

Great voice. They could show talentless poseurs like Madonna the door.

Who knows, I mean, you can sort of dance to the watusi to it but it sure would be a disturbing song to do so though.
