notice this: the censors required that at 0:10 they required him to refer to her as Mrs. Thornhill, as they couldn't have them doing what we know they did if they weren't married, so they re- recorded over that original dialogue. You can see how his mouth doesn't move to his words.  And yet they miss the clear phallic symbol, and the music during that scene is going "BOOM BOOM BOOM" i think it speaks for itself.

I hated this ending when I first saw it. It was so abrupt and cliched, with the characters marrying. It happened so suddenly. What the hell? Though now I find it hilarious. Great film.

I love how the final shot represents a penis entering a vagina. Hitchcock movies had a tendency to be sexually-suggestive due to the MPAA's restrictions regarding sex at the time. That's one thing I've always admired about the great director!
