They have a similar timbre on this song, however in my opinion Pj Harvey has a much wider range and more tonal sublty in her vocals than Patti. This song exemplifies just one of her many vocal styles, Her latest album for example is sung in a frail soprano very disimilar to the sultry and husky voice you hear here.
