Good luck to all of you shipping off to training soon! Study hard, learn your skills. No amount of training in the world will prepare you for the real deal, but you can be ready for it tactically. When the situation does present itself, you will never rise to the occasion, you will fall to the highest level of your training. I was the medic in the convoy that got hit in Kabul on 10/29/2011. Just finished AIT back in Feb of this year. Hooah to past, present, and future F-co Falcons!

@W3dogs yes,we do go through combat training in FMTB also depending which division you go through field training(west and east coast have different names for them) and along with 'live-tissue' trauma training. We're suppose to only carry a 9mm pistol but the marines upgrade us to M14 or M16
@MrTexasToad one thing i can suggest is to make rank as soon as possible. study and pt are my only suggestions to make things easier. hope to see u in the fleet.

- Some separated, own pairs of gloves is allways a plus also gauze bandage, you never know what comes. Once we got too less, so it helped!
- A dictionary of the country you go to is very important to let (when its in your duty) civvies do your job.
- of course something to read (maybe the Studybooks) and music.
