So if there were no latin drug cartels coming to our land then domestic cartels will be in power. Since Marijuana was prohibited harsher drugs were created n were alot easier to smuggle. @KKKn50cal Actually, legalization is the answer. Keeping drugs illegal is what makes the price of it & marijuana skyrocket. Thanks to that, gangs all over the U.S. & cartels in Mexico can make money to increase their numbers, influence, weapons, & violence - as well as overburden law enforcement.
That is why one drug cartel is now nearly capable of overthrowing the entire Mexico government. The reason why a U.S. border presence is necessary now is because we failed to realize these facts.

@bruce21st Furthermore, we get marijuana, hemp, and many prescription drugs from overseas, let Canada have them, let them create the products, then buy it from them for 3-7 times more. Then we sell these overpriced subscriptions to U.S. patients for 3-20 times more. It makes the cost of medical care & insurance premiums go up sharply.
Again, the war on drugs is responsible for why 80% of our drug & medicinal supplies being foreign. Our self-righteousness against legality is backfiring.

@bruce21st And lastly, banning things like marijuana simply does not make sense. A loser can simply go outside & pick certain leaves, use two regular household items to taint those leaves with, roll it all up, and smoke something that is far more dangerous than marijuana ever would be - LEGALLY.
What is the solution here - ban these items too & spend billions of taxpayer dollars to lock up these people too? All it would do is give gangs & drug cartels a new way to make money & spread violence.
