Now for a serious philosophy question about Mephiles that has a semi-retorical answer: when he was a normal flame and still whole, was it right to use science on a flame that they worshipped as a god, who gave the duke authority to control the power of science and a god? Was Mephiles' pause at Shadow's quote about revenge a sign that usually when you worship a god that the god has power over you or was he just automatically evil just for his hidden name of Mephistopheles?

@Trogdorbad It was because a bunch of fans got together and decided to try and make Sega finish the game before the end of the year. So, they did. They rushed and this is what happens when you rush art. That's why it's so glitchy and whatnot. If the fans would have let Sega take their time,this could have very well been placed alongside other great sonic games. The soundtrack is proof of the potential the game could have had if it wasn't rushed. Keep this in mind fans! Next time you want a game!

IT would be better if they were given more time, because you can tell they couldn't do much of a good job with the CAMERA ANGLES. The best part about it though is the music. Thats all they could be good for, but you don't see the older fans complaining. They all understand it. @Pusga2 Eggman was always his name, then the Americans changed it and later decided that the games should be more like the japanese versions. That makes it terribly ironic because each time someone asks to give back Eggman his original name, they ask to not change it at all!

But since they're doing a level from 06 in Generations, that technically created the paradox of the story actually existing, thus having those guys alive. Even if they can't bring 'em back, that still doesn't change option 3:to remake this game. Doubt it'll ever happen though.
My favorite Sonic villain after Eggman. Sega should either make him appear in Generations, make a new game where he comes back for revenge or remake this game so we can see its true potential.
@MegaGlassguy Im with you all the way in remaking this- It lacked SO MUCH! Helping folks in town was fun and all (Levels were well-detailed too) but, those are only 2 of a few essentials to a "Good" game- Story felt very lacking in this game.

This is a remix of the 1st battle against Mephiles. Also, to get a S rank on this battle keep the battle short and collect as many rings as possible. I just finished Shadow's Story yesterday so I am just sharing my knowledge. I know how to get an S rank on Iblis Phase 2 without cheating. Here is how: get all the rings in the arena and keep them. After you have 60 rings beat Iblis in the shortest time possible. Hope this helps.

Sonic is in an abandoned part to a 3000 year old castle. He walks up to a door that he's heard about by Shadow and Tails. That people have been possesed and attacked when they enter it by an unknown source. He opens it and Mephiles (Crystal) quickly forced his hand over Sonic's mouth, then the whole screen goes blank. (The song just cuts off at 0:32)

Another moment in my head.(Parts 0:00-0:33)
Sonic is in an abandoned part to a 3000 year old castle. He walks up to a door that he's heard about by Shadow and Tails. That people have been possesed and attacked when they enter it by an unknown source. He opens it and Mephiles (Crystal) quickly forced his hand over Sonic's mouth, then the whole screen goes blank. (The song just cuts off at 0:32)
NOTE: I have no intention of Sonic getting killed for real. =) It was just a thought IDK. XDD
