  • hi, does this work with solid state amps also? I have both so I want to know if it can work for both amps.

  • Instead of saying "let's see how much gain we can get", try saying "let's see how LITTLE gain we can get". I'd like to see some of the ultra low-gain properties of your drive pedals. All the OD demos have too much gain for what I'm looking for.

  • What about the humbucker guitars?

  • Blues pro vs Blues driver? anyone?

  • I've been wanting this pedal for a while now! Loving the tone, hoping it goes good with my custom SG and an egnater amp.

  • Tough desicion , this or a fulltone OCD ?

  • I love it , can you order it off line ?

  • sounds good... a bit Ritchie Blackmore-ish!

  • i have this stompbox, and it is one of the best buys i've ever made. if anyone is thinking about buying an overdrive, whether as a first overdrive or for stacking onto another one, it works really well and sounds amazing! its essential to my rig, and even though i love pgs demos, this particular one doesn't do it justice. if you watch the same one on their website, its in high quality.

  • @yuvalrplaysguitar hello , I am looking for a good overdrive, this one sounds good , I have the reissue tubescreamer and a jetter gain stage red, there is something missing in both , this sounds good. have you tried others before buying this one.

    regards Phil

  • @Howardsend88 It depends on what you are looking for. Blues Pro is a tubescreamer type of pedal with more gain in tap in case you need it, and it doesn't cut the lows like many tubescreamers do in my experience. So it's a great pedal if you want a tubescreamer type of pedal.

  • @SidHenderson does it have the mid hump of a TS?

  • how does this compare to a keeley mod boss bd2? is it as transparent?

  • i got an ac30H2L how this sounds through an ac30

  • Love your demos!

  • whats the intro song riff? sounds fun to play

  • He played hendrix ^^

  • does this boost your mids a la tubescreamer pedals?

  • do u think this would sound good with a hollow body gretsch. i need to know because i was thinking about buying one of these pedals, they sound great

  • Whts the differences between blues overdrive and overdrive??

  • It sounds good on every single setting... I bet it would blend great with MI's Crunch Box!

  • How would this sound on a bass?

  • Maxon od 9 is a sweet pedal but I would pay a little bit of extra to get a maxon od 9 pro.

  • tasty!

  • there is a new one out there and I would like to hear it xD

  • i love mi pedals, but i hate that they have the tiny little footswitch that you can't press without shoes on.

  • LOL it's the same size as every other non boss style stompbox

  • playing without shoes?

  • @jamiev4

I feel like I keep being devil's advocate on these PGS vids. Andy's gonna' learn my account name real fast and block me lol

Aaaanyway, I kinda' agree w/ you. I like the little hard switches for most things, but for a go-to and go-to-FAST pedal, I think the Boss-style is handy. I'm actually in the process of finding a new main overdrive to go just left of my wah b/c I can't seem to engage the little switches and wah at the same time. Thinkin' Maxon OD-9, actually.

    Thoughts?

  • @jamiev4 Who the heck plays without shoes? Stop playing at home! Get a rehearsal place and get out gigging! Keep your shoes on!

  • @jamiev4 get foot calluses.

  • I dont care much about effect pedals, i just bought the me70 a month ago, thought it would satisfy every need, but damn this pedal sounds really awesome

  • i still don't get why i should use one of these pedals. you can get those sounds from a marshall O:o

  • That is the whole point of the effects industry; "get that marshall on full blast sound, without the pesky police interrogations, rapid hearing loss, and painful divorce settlements" ;)

  • True, but for those of us that cannot afford a Marshall, pedals are the cheapest, most efficient alternative.

  • @ihadtoenteraname

because that marshall needs to be turned up to mind blastingly high levels to get it to overdrive.

  • this sounds rad as hell, I want one.

  • Comment removed

  • anyone think this pedal is totally freddie king????, lol either that or the reviewer is playing with a quarter for a pick ; )

  • haha yeah I hear it, and the reviewer isn't even using a pick haha

  • All ProGuitarShop demoes seem to sound like that. I think it's the way Andy plays.

  • Sweet! Perfect for ZZ Top songs

  • Did you try ? With what amp ?

  • where can i buy this?

    someone please reply.

    :)

  • by chance, did you happen to look at the channel name? if not let's dissect the most salient elements of it: SHOP. go to their website moron.

  • At PGS of course. Why do think they do all these demos ? :o)

  • For Stones - this or Barber LTD SR?

  • This may sound weird...but check out a deluxe memory man. If you turn the delay off and give it some volume, damn. It's a great analog preamp/overdrive. You can have that AND the analog delay. Great deal ;)

  • would it sound the same as a normal MM?

  • IMO Barber LTD

  • i have been looking for an alternative to the fulltone trower overdrive(being a huge trower fan/player) but really don't want to spend that much on it. i think i may have found my alternative, i was thinking about an ocd, but it is too thin. i have a neo and i love. mi audio pedals are very well built.

  • ocd is definently not too thin!

  • that's funny coughlintm, as i've been tossing up between this and the robin trower od for a little while. In the end the rto won out. Just ordered it about an hour ago. It'l be interesting to see just how good it is. yay

  • how do like your robin RTO. its looks awesome but its sounds abit midrangy. tell me how you like. i haven't been able to play it in person. thanks man.

  • I love the blues pro for jazz fusion

    Very good with a ES335

Fat and Modern sound, i have an old one equiped with an JRC4580 (very good op amp)

  • Picked one of those puppies up last week from Sydney but unfortunately the sound is not anywhere near to this with my Vox Pathfinder 15w. Man, I need a new amp!

  • The Pathfinder is a great amp. Just play with your settings on the guitar, pickups, amp and toy with the pedal more and you'll get good sounds, I promise you.

  • this and the keeley modded boss bd-2 are pretty similiar. but im kinda leaning twards this.

  • this might be a dumb question, but does it give you a boost as well then?

  • i listen to these vids more then music now ...thast not good

  • lol yeah i know what you mean

I'm listening to fuzz pedals every day

Just feels good not to be alone :p

  • same

  • ditto.

  • i've watched a couple of hundred for sure. still trying to figure out which one to get :)

  • me too.........S:

  • @kylelaffin LOL@mE..I do too...love hearing all these pedals...

  • @kylelaffin These vids ARE music ;)

  • what is it at 1:11 to 1:30 cant rember, but it was on gta 4 san andreas

  • CCR - Green River

  • I got this off an ebay auction (this video helped me decide on it). Sounds great... has the sound I've been looking for. I bought a Double Muff a while ago, but this is more what I was looking for. Great pedal. I got it pretty cheap because the "fuzz" switch is broken, but it should be an easy fix.

    Recommend it. Great video.

  • oh god what sound! can i play like jimi using one of these?

    lol

  • sure u can

  • whts the name of that song at the start of all the vids

  • the proguitarshop intro song.

  • very thick sounding. sounds so awesome.

  • it can play zeppelin if you got some humbuckers sure.

  • Can the blues pro's overdrive get up to some heavier zeppelin stuff? I know he plays tea for one later on in the demo but thats not as heavy? Thats the only thing im not sure of otherwise this pedals seems perfect. Great od,great tone, and a nice sounding fuzz.

  • My modded Blues Driver can sound like this.

  • and... that is the reason you had to mod it:D

if it was mi Audio you wouldnt have to:D

  • How is the sustain on this? And can it get heavy enough to play some zeppelin?

  • you can't understand my point of view. i made Fuzz and OD pedals by myself, i could tell you how to save money and to have a good sound.. but i wont. i see you have nice guitars but you should learn how to make it sound good.

bye from italy my greek neighbour.

  • To bigdipps/Creedence Clearwater revivals version of Suzie Q.Sorry for my first misspelling. All you need is a almost clean amp and a single coil pointing at the speaker, using a pedal is a short cut

  • Is Green River, of CCR

  • I'm with you brother, there are plenty of Boss and other sleeper pedals that sound great once you mod them. The parts and labor are very low. I have a Boss DS-1 with the Analogman Pro mod and it now sounds as good if not better than a lot of these pedals. Stay in touch, I always enjoy any tips or help with stompboxes.

    -A.C.

  • .......and thats why you have to mod them. If it was MI Audio, you wouldnt have too :-)

  • To bigdips, after welcome to guitar, he plays Creedence Claerwater`s version of Sussi Q

    Btw very nice pedal.

  • Whats the first song that he plays?

  • you play a lot of zepppppp duude

  • what an amazing pedal! how much is it?

  • I AB'd this pedal with my OCD and they are really similar. They get slightly different overtones coming through but both pedals react to playing in a similar way.

  • How is the sustain on this? And can it get heavy enough to play some zeppelin?

  • Sounds like a meaner, warmer, less compressed TB.

  • Tweedy!

  • How does this pedal respond to a deluxe strat with HSS ??

  • Really impressive!!! Powerful and trasparent..awesome

  • would dis pedal sound good on a les paul???

  • Yes, you could use Humbuckers with this pedal. It's designed to give a tight low end so you don't have to worry about it getting muddy with HB pickups. Thanks,

    PGS

  • this or big muff pi???

    who can help?

  • from what i know, both pedals sound quite different, so it depends what you want.

  • both.

save yourself from making a choice.

    and you get more gear!!

  • theres really no comparing the two

  • its tiny! awesome!

  • I read that this is like an Ibanez Tube Screamer without all the small problems the Tube Screamer has

  • What problems does the Tube Screamer have? I've had one for years and it's perfect.

  • what guitar and amp u using for this?

    thanks

  • he says in the beginning

  • It's called a "65 Amp Soho." Yeah, a funny name when you first hear it.

  • I cant decide between this, the blue boy deluxe and the fulltone ocd, any opinions? and i like the CCR riff, and a great demo as always.

    neal

  • well, i think that this thing kicks the ocd's ass

  • I have a BBD and the BP...i like them both...here's the skinny, the bp is a better boost imho, the bbd has great features and a smoother tone in general, but the throaty sound of the bp is cool, too. I find the bp DOES muddy with power chords on high gain settings the bbd does not (this is w/ humbuckers)...if you want a boost go bp if you want more versatility go bbd...if using single coils both should be great...good luck!

  • pretty cool TS overdrive, and the fuzz sounds great.

  • Awesome pedal and demo. Keep up the good work chaps!
