@AndrewC that's not FM synthesis. NES used a much lower bit rate digital synthesis that more closely resembles analog synthesis with it's reliance on traditional waveforms such as saw, pulse, sine, and noise as opposed to the 4 operator FM engine used on platforms like the Genesis.

So after hearing the ending theme, that's definitely FM synthesis.. makes me wonder how they "emulated" that... then again, probably the same way that programs like nestopia do... just answered my own question.. Oh, btw, how was it meeting Miyamoto? Did ya'll converse at all? He seemed quite impressed with your SMB1 speed run (from what I could see..)
