Anyone that has actually sailed a ship/boat/whatever knows that the general rule for the right of way is NOT what it is with cars. The right of way goes to the larger ship, always, due to the comparative maneuverability that lowers dramatically with larger ships.

However, at least in this clip, we're not seeing the "other" maneuvers where the larger ship changed course aiming for the smaller one.

The Ady Gil had the right-of-way. As you can see the Ady Gil intentionally crossed paths with the Japanese ship. But, the Japanese ship turned on water cannons used for terrorists to intentionally obstruct the view of the captain of the Ady Gil. To use force with water when you have intentionally rammed a ship is wrong. The Japanese  could have gone into emergency reverse or changed course. To risk even one persons life is wrong.

In any case, other videos of this incident, taken from a distance, show that the whaler was not originally going to pass near the Gil at all, but changed course twice to aim for the smaller ship.

@AssyrianStrength People have a right to protest under law. The waters are international I believe so people could object to Japanese whaling activities there. Obviously it's a heated ongoing battle between the parties on an emotive issue in which international agreement has not been reached, but you cant go ramming other boats and potentially killing people.
