you i play both games but wow definitely has more complicated boss battles at max level raids, but yes the pvp is way better in gw especially on a 1v1 basis because wow is not really balanced around 1v1 even on other aspects of pvp gw is much better.

WoW is alright... but its nothing compared to GW.... The graphics in WoW are like TorchLight. Or Dungeon Runners. And I have seen WoW on Full Graphics and ive seen Guild Wars on full graphics, and Guild Wars demolishes.
When you all say GW is better than WoW, youre basing it on graphics alone. The game may be twice as pretty as WoW but we're talking about gameplay. You cant do half the shit in GW that you can in WoW.
i think WoW is better (just my opinion) because it is far more open world and its about doing quests and meeting new people and things like that. sure, it takes time to gain lvls, but in GW you could max out in less than a week. is that rly any fun??
Once you get to level 20 thats really where the game begins, the 20 level limit is designed to make all dungeons missions etc accesable to all players and not just to those who are able to grind. Either way there both great games i just dont understand why people think one has to be better then the other.

Guildwars PvP aspect is far better than WoW's as it is based on your action bar and skill, any class can kick ass.However the PvE part of GW is lacking as it isn't an open world like WoW where you can meet new people radomly instead of in towns. In guildwars spam is a very noobish thing to do. You don't spam your 8 pre-picked skills. You use them where you have to use them, under certain circumstances and you make combos with them. In wow i doubt that you even use 8 skills (discluding mount,town-teleportation and other useless battle skills.)

@dragonflame4990 I've played wow, and I've seen others play wow, many many times. The last time I've seen someone playing wow was with a rogue in arena. He was doing 3 things, 1) go stealth, 2) use a skill that can only be used while in stealth , 3) spam an attack skill to kill a target. Of course, using a bandage to heal when not in combat and using the skill to summon a mount are not considered (at least i dont) combat skills.

Guild Wars is lame. I bought it and I regret it. Who the hell said the graphics on GW is better than warcraft? The people in GW run like machines while WoW characters have personality with every move. Character creation in GW is bullshit, characters look like crap. My interest was lost 10 minutes into the game. 90% of the players look alike, so there is no originality. There is so much more to WoW than GW. Once again, GW is just the poor man's WoW.
You know, if I were to base my opinion of WoW on nothing but 10 min of game play, I could say the exact same things about it as you are about GW. Granted, the characters in GW look fairly similar in the first area, but that is only because they haven't actually got anywhere in the game to get new armors. With the exception of the really high end set I don't actually see that many people running around looking like me.
The fact remains that this debate is entirely based on opinion. In my opinion WoW is better, in others', GW is better. However one has to assess both sides of the argument.

First off excellent video. As for the conversation, I still think GW is better. Graphics aside, GW has a better story, nowhere near as much grinding for gear or levels, much less griefing because of indiv. copies of exp. areas, and because you can only have 8 skills at a time (but any two classes) you get a much more varied and individual style for each chatacter. (mostly) I am NOT saying that WoW is a bad game by any means, but in the battle of greats GW comes out a bit ahead.

Logically that makes sense, though I don't see how my comment actually relates to yours, as I didn't mention kids/adults at all, except for one thing. Logically you could assume that GTA would have way more adults than children playing it, due to the M rating and the fact that you have to be over 17 to buy it, but it isn't the case. Parents all too often get the kid whatever they want, M rated games, etc., including monthly subscriptions to WoW or whatever.
I never said it was a more mature game. That was what is called an example. From what I have seen the content (in terms of maturity) seems to be the same in both of these games. In fact, across the board MMO's have been T rated. This is about to change, of course, with the Conan MMO, but that is neither here nor there. I used to play WoW, and I was actually disappointed in the graphics the game provided. They are somewhat cartoonish and they actually use the same layouts for buildings and dungeons. The graphics look like shit close up.

Okay, 4 guild wars games in total. = about £80 - £100 depending on where you buy. You get 8 characters. WoW costs £10 and £15 for expansion. And if you pay monthly its £8 - or half a year payed is £4 a month. And you get 5 characters per server. Unlimited servers. So if yhour smart and pay half yearly, you end up gettin the better game for alot cheaper than GW.

GW is mostly a pvp game with its complex skill structure and team battles WoW is pve has long storyline incredble item collection, but u cant compare these games because they are so different.

WoW sucks, the only thing that WoW is good at is the cinematics. The graphics suck, the armour sucks, they pretty much have the same creatures with just different skins. Also, the dance styles suck balls. This is why Guild Wars owns WoW. Guild Wars ftw!

Guild Wars is lame. I bought it and I regret it. Who the hell said the graphics on GW is better than warcraft? The people in GW run like machines while WoW characters have personality with every move. Character creation in GW is bullshit, characters look like crap. My interest was lost 10 minutes into the game. 90% of the players look alike, so there is no originality. There is so much more to WoW than GW. Once again, GW is just the poor man's WoW.

You know, if I were to base my opinion of WoW on nothing but 10 min of game play, I could say the exact same things about it as you are about GW. Granted, the characters in GW look fairly similar in the first area, but that is only because they haven't actually got anywhere in the game to get new armors. With the exception of the really high end set I don't actually see that many people running around looking like me.

The fact remains that this debate is entirely based on opinion. In my opinion WoW is better, in others', GW is better. However one has to assess both sides of the argument.
So please, do just that before making misinformed judgements when you have never played one or the other. Highly hypocritical of me seeing as I have never played GW. But I don't disagree that GW is a fine game, It's just that I prefer WoW. They both highly differ and I consider them both great games.

Okay, I looked at all the statements on this video and i have to say they are all the poorly informed and deluded ramblings of mere sheep.
For those who say Warcraft has no story, I suggest you play the games prior to WoW, you will learn something.
I, for one, have never played Guild Wars, nor do I intend to. I know that it has better graphics and has the gameplay of a real-life environment, and that is exactly why I don't intend to play it. I play games for the fun, not to imitate real life.

Coolsiideri you have no idea what you are talking about. The are both MMORPGs, yes, but that does not mean they are the same thing. Hellgate London, GW, WoW, Conan, LOTRO, heck even Runescape are all MMORPGS, but are as different as any other RPGs, or games for that matter.

Simply saying that WoW came out first in no way "proves" that GW copied WoW. Were that true I could say with certainty that WoW copied Star Wars Galaxy and others. And guess what. When you play both you realize that they have no more in common than any other two MMO's have in common. I mean, they are very, very different games. First off excellent video. As for the conversation, I still think GW is better. Graphics aside, GW has a better story, nowhere near as much grinding for gear or levels, much less griefing because of indiv. copies of exp. areas, and because you can only have 8 skills at a time (but any two classes) you get a much more varied and individual style for each chatacter. (mostly) I am NOT saying that WoW is a bad game by any means, but in the battle of greats GW comes out a bit ahead.

Logically that makes sense, though I don't see how my comment actually relates to yours, as I didn't mention kids/adults at all, except for one thing. Logically you could assume that GTA would have way more adults than children playing it, due to the M rating and the fact that you have to be over 17 to buy it, but it isn't the case. Parents all too often get the kid whatever they want, M rated games, etc., including monthly subscriptions to WoW or whatever.

I never said it was a more mature game. That was what is called an example. From what I have seen the content (in terms of maturity) seems to be the same in both of these games. In fact, across the board MMO's have been T rated. This is about to change, of course, with the Conan MMO, but that is neither here nor there. Watch the video on the related list "Sick of GW vs WoW" I like GW better, you obviously like WoW better. Guess what, nothing I say is nor anything you say is going to change that.

I used to play WoW, and I was actually disappointed in the graphics the game provided. They are somewhat cartoonish and they actually use the same layouts for buildings and dungeons. The graphics look like shit close up.

Okay, 4 guild wars games in total. = about £80 - £100 depending on where you buy. You get 8 characters. WoW costs £10 and £15 for expansion. And if you pay monthly its £8 - or half a year payed is £4 a month. And you get 5 characters per server. Unlimited servers. So if yhour smart and pay half yearly, you end up gettin the better game for alot cheaper than GW.

GW is more geared to PvP. It takes skill to win in Guild Wars since max level gear is easy to get. WoW is more PvE. Gear is a major factor in WoW.
