thats the wrong way to change a mercury lamp. 1st of all you need to disconect the black lead conecting the light housing to the transformer as there are large capacitors in side the transformer that hold charge and can give u a big shock. 2nd you should be wearing safety glasses. 3rd when you put the new globe in, it should be placed in the flexable end first otherwise if u make one rong move you will break the globe and u dont want to do that given the price of these globes.
