@regeky The brand is Schecter. It's based on the 70's fenders stratocaster. It has Seymour Duncan SSL-7 in bridge and neck positions and SSL-1 in middle.

well his guitar is NOT a fender strat he uses duncan pickup his fret board is not scalloped and no brass nut (btw yngwie guitar is not yellow its olympic white) there are the obvious differences

Hey, can't Schecter be sued by Fender for essentially producing a strat copy? Shima San also has a large headstock model with the bullet trusrod, ala Fender!!!

as long as the specs aren't exactly the same, fender can't do jack. for example, Alexi Laiho's USA ESP series has the V legs a little higher than usual, with slightly bigger bevels, and the output jack on the other leg to avoid getting sued (it originally was exactly the same as Alexi used to use Jacksons)

Shima probably uses Japanese Schecters anyway, and Fender USA copyrights have no effect on the Japanese market. That's why the Alexi Japanese line is exactly the same as a Jackson.

Besides Malmsteen, Dave Murray and Janick Ger,the only others playing Strats are the Neo-Classical Malmsteen copiers. When I started playing guitar as a Teenager I played Strats but by the time I modified them with pickups, Floyd Rose, and a new neck, they were more like Jackson's than Fenders.

Shima has a very smooth and fluid economy picking technique that Yngwie doesn't have. I would say his playing is more "rock'n'roll" than neoclassical type stuff - check his work in Double Dealer.
