The Ampex ATR100 came out in 1977, not 1971. Still a good machine, but a little rough on tape. The Studer is the king on tape handling and sounds just as good, if not better.

What's wrong with the music I like? My taste definately isn't limited to that. Obviously you're quite offended to go to the effort and look up my favourites.

Also, I don't spend time looking at waveforms - i listen.

Good songs are good songs, but it's just a shame when it's ripped off by bad production

Nah, not really. If you spend any length of time arguing about sonics and mastering and techy shit, your missing out on some good music. Good songs. Good performances. But go ahead and stare at your computer screen and waveforms all day and night. It's the modern day D&D! Leaves more music for me!!
