kids will probably pick up on how to make creatures quickly actually. I remember when I first played complicated Star Trek Simulations back when I was 4 and 5 on the commodore. We had to print out maps of various star systems to know where the enemy was to go blow them up. As well as attempting to keep track of all enemy positions and how many torpedos we have, where we are located adjacent to the enemy so we could fire at the right angle etc.

As for gore: Who cares. Kids watch some gross ass shit these days (try watching ONE EPISODE of Billy and Mandy or Ed Edd and Eddy).

As for brain power: Creating creatures will be fun for them. They'll probably wind up making really bad ones who are easy to kill, but isn't that the way real life works? Those who are smart survive, and those who are not are food.

It's by the same creators of The Sims. If you played The Sims, you'll see that the music is kinda similar, that's why the music is kinda weird like that. Anyways, I so can't wait for this game! It will be the greatest game ever if they can hurry up and release it already!
