I'm a little confused here. I've been really into Yeasayer's music but I admit I've rarely seen them play live (even on video). I didn't know that Anand sang but in this song he sound even better than Chris. Does anyone know how long Anand has been singing lead for them and whether Chris is still lead on other songs?

@cilleysf I didn't know Anand sang vocals on this either but it seems like he is doing more front man stuff because he sings lead on Madder Read too. But Chris leads on Ampling Alp some I'm not really sure who's taking the lead.

i love this band. however.........i am rather sad the old drummer is absent on their 2nd outing into the world. he was a huge part of their initial sound. and while i love the fact that they interchange vocal duties so much, i must say, chris keating's forced breathless soul is more to my liking than the other guy. the other guy is a better singer....but that makes him less compelling and dynamic than chris. imo...

Still, I don't know why in the introduction they don't note the really, really obvious and awkward dissonance between the guitar chords that are repeated and the synth thing that comes in waves and fades...they are in completely different keys, and I think constitute an oversight or just mistake. It doesn't work at all. But this song is an absolute fucking win win WIN. Counterpoint between melodies = doublewin
