The Walkmen are pretty awesome. This isn't the good song off of You & Me, check out "On The Water". Their album Lisbon is pretty nice too.
It doesn't bug me that people listen to this because of a show or someone told you about it. It's good music and everybody has the right to enjoy it without getting crap! So stop being a hipster and caring about how others came about the song.

I wouldn't be so judgemental. There's no shame in wanting to distance yourself from hangers on. There exists something intimate and beautiful about music you like because its good, emotional, intelligent, and yeah fucking cool, plus you took the time to actually discover it. And yes, it does cheapen the feel when some show on MTV, a channel that puports to be about music, features them in some serialized drama aimed at suburban teenagers.

have loved this band for a while, got to see them live at lee's in toronto, blew me away , my friend got tobe in their horn section for a part of their tour.love it, this song has single handedly helped me remember a past girl in an extremely positive light ( and yes, she was actually canadian) whom i left as i left the country. brilliant

ever since this was on that tv show kids have been bouncing off the wall, saying that they were fans of the band, just like with dinosaur jr
however, those kids (that are huge fans) don´t even listen or comment on the other songs, only the ones that appear on skins
it makes you wonder if they are really in here for the music or for the "hip status"
