  • You are very sexy! Tics or no tics.

  • does it ever hurt your neck when you tic? I have a friend who has tourettes . :) And i love him :)

  • @Phsyco2016 Yeah hurts a lot sometimes! I have to see a physiotherapist every week to help deal with the pain.

  • @star22em sorry. I hope it doesnt hurt too bad.

  • at 0:53 i got so scared because i was looking at the comments, i hear a loud banging, so i think your tics made you slam your head into the desk!

  • i think you are wonderfull :)

  • I'm so sorry you have Tourette's. I want to learn more about it and possible ask people with Tourette's questions. If you would be willing please let me know! I want to raise awareness. Thank you!

    -Eathin

  • All pretty standard tics associated with the syndromes (TTS, Tourettes). Side note, you're very pretty. :)

  • One of my friends has Tourettes. She has head tics where she throws her head back a lot, she blinks her eyes constantly, and pushes her fingers beside her nose and onto her glasses. First, it was very uncomfortable to be around her, but I got used to it. I couldn't imagine being her; going to school and doing all that she does. She doesn't even seem to sweat it. She is a strong person.

You are so brave to put this video on Youtube, too. I enjoy all of your videos.

People need to be educated. <3

  • Speechless.....Praying for all who have tourettes..

  • I will never look at girls the same way i did

  • I have eye tics, throat tightening, scrunching my eyebrows down, grumbling, finger squeezing and constantly having to move my toes into a "Ball shape" if that's how you say, So I picked up smoking cigarettes 4 years ago and It helps calm them down for a bit sometimes.

  • @InfurnusChaotix Personally, I would never try smoking cigarettes, as in the long run it will just cause way more health problems than it can "fix." Also, the only reason cigarettes calm you down, is because when you're smoking them, you take a break from everything for a few minutes, go outside, and take like 20 deep breaths. Let's just say that it's not the nicotene that's helping your tics!! :)

  • im glad im not the only one.... i have ticks in my head, wrist, arm, eyes and jaw... it just makes my tired... The thing that really helps me is not thinking about it i like to sing, dance or watch tv for a little but if your tired you should take a nap or just go to bed, because im always on the computer 24/7 and i stay up till 1 am on my ipod, watching tv, on my cell phone or ipod... sometimes i just need to take a brake... dont worry,.. im here with you :)

  • @CowboysGirl11 I'm glad you can relate! Thanks for the sweet comment, it means a lot to me :) I agree with not thinking about it... It certainly does help when you aren't forced to try and control them and you can just relax and be yourself!

  • I admire the heck out of you for posting this video! Your stronger then you think!

  • @Libstergirl74 Thank you! :)

  • @star22em your welcome

  • Is there no medication to lessen the tic severity?

  • @8wirral8 There are a variety of medications available to try, but for me personally, my body does not react well with them so it is not worth it!

  • my friend drew deitsch has tourettes and it has been really hard for him to get a girlfriend, do you have a boyfriend?

  • You're a very brave person.

  • HI EMMA!!! wow!! i thought i was the only one in the world to have the same exact tics I been suffering with this thing my whole life and people used to make fun of me cos of it i thought i was alone with this but at least now I know others suffer the same disorder and i aint alone in this thank you for your video sweety ,you may have just shed some light for me now .GOD BLESS !!! GARY FROM FALL RIVER MA.

  • i understand what it feels like to not be in control...because i have stuttering and some people think i can control it which drives me crazy.

  • @nefrinhayat Awww I'm sorry to hear that you have to go through that- it's definitely very hard when people refuse to believe how little control you do have over your own body sometimes! Stay strong and keep the true friends in your life close :)

  • I am Simone from Vinci Italy, I have Dystonia. search me if you want and if you can. Search in youtube at voice montereggi or in facebook at Polverosi Simone.

  • is treated CRW & RF Generator in functional neurosurgery

  • omg i think i know this girl her real name is emily i went to school with her holler back at me emily you got a facebook?

send me a private message were we can chat i didnt know you had torrettes my name is justin please respond to this message

  • @07wildwolf Umm, my real name IS Emma.... Hence the reason all my videos say "Emma says" haha :)

  • are u half asian...?? your beauitful

  • thank u 4 sharing a day in your life, i am researching this because my brother shows signs and he is 34, i hope u have a goodday:)-

  • @BIGERN558 You know for something to be considered Tourette's the onset is usually before age 18. Not saying he doesn't have it, but just something to consider. If he just started showing symptoms, you may want to look at other possibilities.

  • Hey Emma, do you know if you have ticks like theses when you are sleeping? I mean..are you so acclimated to them that you aren't awakened by them?

  • @birchnbark Yes I do actually, they often calm down though because I am a lot more relaxed. I have "episodes" in my sleep though where they get super bad for a while. I have a video up about that- Emma says: Me Ticcing in my Sleep :)

  • @star22em Oh ok..just saw your sleeping video. Interesting. When I was young I was an extreme sleepwalker. Once I even crawled out my window, rang the door bell, was let in by my mother and went back to bed without knowing it. I didn't remember a thing. Anyway, I've been increasingly rolling my eyes and increasingly over checking things until I have to do number games to stop. Not an issue but ...? How does OCD develop? Great piano playing by the way. I compose scores myself.

  • @birchnbark I used to sleepwalk a bit too, not as bad as yours sounds though. OCD is usually triggered by a tragic or stressful event, and since it is an anxiety disorder, the event can make it seem as if it just appeared out of nowhere. If you're over checking things and doing things with numbers, I think you may want to nip it in the bud and go talk to a psychologist and get some advice. They can really help and believe me, if untreated, OCD gets WAY worse. Best of luck :)

  • @star22em Ok, thanks. I think I'll be fine but seeing your video made me wonder. When I was younger I did see a psychologist for an extreme event that happened to me. I learned a lot. Basically we're all crazy! Ha ha lol Take care...more piano videos!

  • Hi Emma! As you have seen, you are only getting positive responses from the wider internet audience that is so known for ridicule. Apparently, most everyone likes you, just as you are now, and how many of us can say that?

Anyway, in 42 years of living, one of the most valuable lessons I've learned is not worrying what others think. Be you and at ease with you, and if they like you, great. Otherwise, they can be gone. Ironically, then the more friends appear and tics or worries subside.

  • @jason58765876 Thanks for the comment, that was really insightful and uplifting for me :) It's a hard road to take some times, but in the end I think being happy with yourself no matter what pays off. You have a better life that way and I just wish people knew that.

  • Hi

I know that kind of sudden and quite unpredictable blinking thingy.

But fortunately not all these other motor tics. I hope your cope well with all of them :-(

    Love you <3

  • Word. I know this girl,

  • This really makes me feel for you since I have never seen you tic at school before.

  • Hi

  • You are Gorgeous!

  • your absolutly gorgeous. tourettes just makes ya cuter

  • I very much admire your courage - such vidoes help so many similar people understand they are not alone - others not affected with tourettes can understand what the symptoms are - I sometimes do certain noises while Im on my pc or alone in my room without any reason its uncontrollable - I think it has to do a lot with OCD too ... anyways take care and thanks youre a great person ! God Bless !

  • Your little 'yeah's are so cute! :D

  • You are a VERY brave girl & I give you kuddos for putting yourself out there like this! Im trying to help a gf look into other possibilities as I think her 9yr old might be mis-diagnosed? however, im no doctor so videos like these are VERY helpful!! God Bless you girlfriend and youre a gorgeous young woman, don't ever let your situation hold you back! And thank you for allowing us to view your videos because they really do help! xoxo

  • @soozieschmoove Thanks so much, that's really sweet and I appreciate the kind words!! :) I'm really glad my videos can help, that's why I put them up so it's reassuring to know they actually do something. Good luck with your girlfriend's kid, it's very common to be mis-diagnosed as something else so if you feel it may have been, I encourage you to keep looking until you find the answer you want! God bless you, :)

  • dont worry i dont find that weird i dont have tourettes but i tend to make noises because my room gets too quiet

  • Hope of deliverancy....

  • Why symptoms of tourette is related almost always for swearing? Look video from unclesampatriot and his symptoms of tourette! Thats not funny!!! Hope for better days for all people who have this disorder called tourette!!!!

  • I have Tourettes and I'm proud of it. It makes me unique. It makes me... me. I hope I have it for the rest of my life.

  • @chuching45 Why would she fake this? Even if she was, she is still causing awareness for this AND helping people learn about it.

However, she is a dear friend of mine in real life, and trust me hun, she doesn't fake this. If you're gonna troll, go take it somewhere else. Like, to a video that's ACTUALLY fake.

  • Bloody hell that must be a nightmare trying to get anything done. Keep well, blessings from Ireland.

  • Aww...I think your tics are cute. :)

  • Your Adorable...

  • It's amazing, it's like watching a lion who's unaware of the cameras that are on him.

  • Ur a Slut

  • @iModYouWatch piss off shes no slut! go look in the mirror, that comment what just not needed mate !

you dont go onto peoples videos to call them a slut!

  • @iModYouWatch How is she a slut? What at all makes her a slut?

  • @iModYouWatch How is she a slut? what is she doing that's slutty?

  • I literally have all these tics except the head moving. They get especially worse at night or when I'm on the computer. Even when I'm nervous they act up

  • Can you control this at all? Is it possible you do this to avoid anxiety?

  • @AntisocialVirtuoso ... same question. I get some of these facial tics but I've always attribute it to stress. They go away after a few weeks of concentration. It's like blinking to me. I can stop if I think about it... but just as soon as I stop thinking about it, it becomes involuntary once again. Drives me crazy.

  • @rich661 I guess I could compare it to something like breathing. I can hold my breath but eventually I will have to breath again. Would this apply to a tick?

  • i'd wouldn't care about your tic's if iwere your man your stunning

  • Ur hot :P

  • Do you 'notice' your tics when you're just by yourself? I mean, do they bother you?

Also, you say that do don't say swear words, but do you know why it is many with tourettes do? I'm just thinking where they get it from, and dirty words instead of just random words? :)

  • Dr. Gary Young of youngliving. com wrote EODR essential oil desk reference on PEO pure essential oil. Helichrysum, Raindrop, Panaway really help healing. Gary young was paralyzed when a log fell on him... today he is running marathons. essentialoiltherapies. com PEO brought to Christ child, etc. see my vaccine playlist. within one week of my usArmy shots' i was caughing blood ..etc.. take wheat grass, oxysilver, sun gaze, 5 rite, get close to earth... more detail for those that want.

  • i never realize this before, but after watching your vid, it came to me, that i once had those ticks a long time ago, when i was a kid, rolling eyes, neck whiplash etc. and i cant stop this little urge to make a sound like a crying puppy deep inside my throat, and its LOUD (thats one way to describe it). took a toll on my breathing back then. I dont think its serious as yours though. They're gone now, somehow.. I dont know how, but they're not here anymore... Good luck and stay strong... :o)

  • @EThreeBe

    i found it!

  • Hey Emma, a very dear friend of mine suffers from normally subtle, yet sometimes severe facial tics that have been diagnosed as Tourettes and your explaination of "What a tic feels like" was almost EXACTLY how he described it to me. Anyway, your a very beautiful girl. Remember, your symptoms don't define you, and the strength of character it takes to reveal your affliction to the world via youtube is a virtue that's incredibly rare and quite admirable. I hope your doing well . Jay

  • @subtrefuge28 Hi Jay,

Thanks so much, you're so sweet! I'm really glad I can help describe what a tic feels like in a way that others can relate to :) Thanks again for the sweet comment :)

  • is this real? I honestly can't belivve it. .

  • @10Lazlo Yep, 100% real and true!

  • @10Lazlo Yes. I have the same thing on a much milder level. I tend to shake my hair back a lot (less violent than this) or clear my throat often (maybe every 20 seconds). You usually don't even realize you're doing it until someone calls you out. Really embarrassing. As a musician it sucks because it can mess with your playing. Ironic that music is the only thing I want to do.

  • i cant control my tics eather :(

  • I had tourette when I was a child, from 3 to 8 years, and now I'm suffering with some tics, but nothing in comparison to my first years of life.I don't know why it stops. Now I have a regular tic,but people have to stay with me a lot to ntice it.Ah,and when I have a lot of anxiety, the tics are worse.

But I know that they are involuntary, and I agree with MrRazorblade999 that says the compulsions aren't involuntary.

  • sweetheart i have tourettes too i understand

  • This is thekind of tics i would almost want my future wife to have, i would hear her voice all the time and see her hair swinging back and forth.

  • @zeranas Aww, that's so sweet in a strange way haha, made me laugh!!

  • i feel bad looking at you. i know how you're family feel about it. i'm a mom with a 7 year old boy and a bit anxious of my son. hope it's not tics, he still under observation

  • @duchessalcala Don't feel bad, it doesn't bother me nearly as much as it bothers some people :) Good luck with everything!!

  • I know how you feel, I have a lot of the same tics. I am 34 and was diagnosed when I was 7. In my 20's my tourettes calmed down a whole lot and was able to get off the meds. In my 30's the tourettes have come back full forces and the vocal tics are minor but there. Hang in there!

  • Is Tourette's in any way related with obsessive-compulsive disorder? I mean are all those tics involuntary?

  • @MrRazorblade999 Great question! Yes they are related- associated conditions, but the tics and compulsive behaviours are 2 different things with a very fine line distinguishing them. The tics are involuntary, the compulsions aren't. You do tics because your muscles can't stop from doing them, you do compulsions to reduce anxiety... Hope that helps!! :)

  • @star22em That's what I thought. Thanks!

  • Does it count as having tics when you fall asleep in class and wake up by your legs twitching lol

  • @alexpatrick14 Not really haha I think everyone gets that at sometime... ;)

  • I would love to have a pretty girlfriend like her, those tics wouldn't bother me, I wounld mind her blerting out dirty words lol, wouldn't be a big deal to me.

I would hold her hand and kiss it even more.

  • I dont have tourette's but this is a question that I wanted to know because I would love to help ppl like you... Do your tics act up when your asleep???

  • @PlanetSoul90 Yeah my tics act up when I'm asleep, they're not as bad as they are during the day because I'm relaxed, but they're still there.

  • @star22em Oh wow thats good... So u mainly gets tics when ur like focused on things or it just happenes wen it wants too???

  • @PlanetSoul90 Basically just when it wants to. Usually they're better when I'm focused, relaxed, and well-rested but worse when I'm stressed, tired, or thinking about it.

  • Thank you for posting your video. I know it took a lot of courage. My 8 yr old son been going through similar facial tics. It kinda took me by surprise but now that he was tested, I'm pretty much used to them now. He'll always be my beautiful boy since the first day I held him in my arms. Once again, thank you for the video.

  • @sbandoo13 Good luck to you and your family, just be patient with him and things will work out :) I'm really glad you're used to them, it really makes a difference for him!

  • I know Ive had tourettes off an on for the last 5 years.. would come and go for months at a time and then go away for months... with nasal ticks or nose twitches but my mom thinks its just in my head. Any advice? Does a diagnosis give any closure and make people more accepting instead of just thinking youre wierd? Thanks... Youre pretty btw :)

  • @wordey123 Hey, good question. Honestly, I'm not a doctor, but I don't think that's Tourette's. I think that it might be more of a transient tic disorder because in TS, you don't have any "tic free periods" for longer than 3 months at a time. I think that seeing a neurologist would be your best bet, because they can help explain it to your mom and hopefully give you some answers :) I doubt it's in your head, it's not really something people would want to fake! All the best, hope it helps :)

  • @star22em

i have twitches , they are caused from having no friends and doing no study in college .

why do you have twitches ?

  • @wordey123 Also, I have had the same experience with my dad... I think it honestly just comes out of how much they love you. They find it hard to accept that you have an incurable neurological disorder, and it's much easier to accept that it's just in your head and can be cured with therapy. Just stay strong and keep at it, you'll know what's right :) Good luck with everything, let me know how it goes!!

  • I am 24 years old and have been living with Tourette's all my life but didn't know it until 2 years ago. People are afraid of what they don't understand so when I get stressed out my tics take over. It is not easy for me dating. This video has reassured me that thousands suffer from Tourette's and that I have respect for all the people that have it because I am living with it also. I know how hard it is to control ticks but keep the faith.

  • @1auricgf I totally agree with you!! Thanks for sharing part of your story with me and for the encouragement, it means a lot to me :) All the best to you, you keep faith too! :)

  • Wow u are gorgeous, sorry it must be pretty hard to have this disease but stay strong :)

  • @tspear1123 Thanks I appreciate it!! :)

  • I could never get studying done like that... :(

  • @jlh1290 It's pretty hard sometimes!!

  • do you ever pull a muscle in your neck.

  • @pazios2002 Yep all the time!!

  • you are pretty no mader what people say about you dont let people get to the best of you you are pretty eaither way and no one can ever change that :D

  • @native417 Awww, thank you so much, that means a lot to me, very sweet!! :)

  • why most of the tourette videos in youtube are uploaded by girls (teenagers)? kinda curious

  • @3GO3US Um teenagers because that's when TS is the worst, girls probably because not too many teenage guys out there make youtube videos about their feelings about their conditions...

  • @star22em do you think so? you know is rare cause supposedly is most common in men than women... why TS is worst in teenage?

  • The sound you make, the "HMM! HUH! HM?" sound...I've been doing that ever since I was about six whenever I'm EXTREMELY tired -- I would say 5 nights out of 7. In the past 6 months, they've gotten worse. It will usually last until I've fallen asleep. I'm 23, and I'm trying to convince my parents that I have phonic tics, and they are just not having it. My motor tics aren't very extensive, but they do happen.

Also, I think you're absolutely gorgeous.

  • @TatteredCrimson I know what you mean, it can be really hard! I wish you the best of luck, and if you ever need someone to talk to send me a message- I'll be here :)

And thank you so much I really appreciate it!! :)

  • I dont have tourettes; in fact, only learnt about it myself in the past hour.. And wow, I do feel sorry for all of you that have to battle this syndrome :/ May I ask, does one still tic when asleep?

  • @SpeedinHawk Well I'm glad you're learning about it- it really helps me to know that awareness is getting spread :) Yes, people still tic in their sleep, the severity decreases dramatically because you're so relaxed, but I've woken myself up from tics, my dad has seen it, and we've caught it on film :)

  • Ur vocal tics are actually sexy :|

  • Emma I'm so sorry u have to deal with that, I would never compare your sickness to mine. I have Bi-Polar disorder but mine can get really bad if I don't take medicine for it, in this time and age I wish people can be a bit more understanding to people like us and not treat us like we r from another planet and realize we r just extra special. I try looking at it in a positive way so it doesn't make me sad or depress.

  • well you're beautiful, i'll give you that.

  • @grokagain Thanks so much!!

  • Aww lol you're so pretty! Are your ticks are so cute, too. :D Do you mind me asking a quick question? When you feel a tick about to happen, is it kinda like the same urge you feel when you're about to hiccup?

  • @MissieElliot09 Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!! :) It actually is kind of like a hiccup, yeah, it's hard to explain but it's this weird feeling- almost like tension or restlessness- and it only goes away if you do that specific tic!

  • @star22em A friend/client of mine once compared it to the need to clear your throat. If you don't do it then it just sort of builds up and gets annoying. He tries to withhold a lot of it when he's in public but says that it sort of builds up and that when he gets home it all comes rushing out. Do you find that this happens to you too?

  • id hurt my neck like crazy doing those sudden movements. it would crack and hurt for days! i love how youtube is making it possible for tourettes victims to show their conditions. also i love that so many people around the world are willing to learn about it thus becoming aware and tolerant of it. keep your head up

  • Id do you tics and all :D

  • I hope it goes away over time hun, you are a very pretty girl - with our without the tourettes hun...

  • :) your ticks are really cuute, i like the one where you go hmm uhmm. and you are gorgeous! I am sure you are probably a college student with no intentions of dating but I guarantee when the day comes that you decide to date or be in a relationship you will find someone as wonderful as you are.. Goodluck with all, and keep your head up, hope to see more of your posts.

  • @ladymackinlife Haha what if I told you I just started high school? ;) Everyone thinks I look super old for my age! Thank you though, that really means a lot to me <3

  • @ladymackinlife I think she is a very pretty woman!!!! I would be happy to take her out ~!

  • @ecattanachh :)

  • You kno whats funny, I dont think ive ever seen a youtube video with more than 10,000 views that didnt have one dislike! This could be the first!

  • Comment removed

  • @star22em u will get married soon dont worry. every1 has a soulmate out there. (except for ME! cause i dont wanna get married. i got my reasons;))

  • Damn.. I feel so sorry for you

    :(

I'd have dated you if you lived near me though :) You seem nice :)

  • Im just wondering.. and trust me, I dnt mean to be insulting and if I am im so sorry but.. Are you able to have a relationship when you have tics like that?

  • @Jarnoontje If I'm going to be 100% honest with you, I have no clue. I've never been in a relationship before! :p I'm sure it's possible as long as the person is aware of it and understands it- some things may have to be different, but there are people with TS out there that are married and have had kids that I've heard of. Again, some aspects may look a bit different, but it is possible.

  • I just wanted to say that you are a beautiful and brave person to put up videos like this. I don't have Tourette's but because of your video's i'll be able to more understand people that I come into contact with and feel more comfortable. :) I wish you all the best!

  • lol you are a retard!

  • @bakudandanLL YEP, you are so smart to figure that out, I'm impressed :) Keep up the good work!

  • @star22em

    thank u retard

  • @bakudandanLL Seriously, why do you say she's a retard. Tourettes doesn't affect her mental capabilities, and since her IQ level is certainly not in the retarded zone, she therefore is not a retard. Oh, and I'm sorry if I used too big of words for your little brain to understand. Leave this commenting before you embarrass yourself even more.

  • @bakudandanLL Mr. bakudandanaLL, why exactly do you say she is a retard?

  • @bakudandanLL Oh the irony.

  • @bakudandanLL Da fuck! If the only thing you can do is goin round trollin on people's videos you gotta just get da fuck out. Go spam some music video with comments bout Justin Bieber since that seems to be the thing trolls like you do best.

  • @bakudandanLL Just get da fuck out man! Go troll some music video with comments bout Justin Bieber since that seems to be the thing trolls like you do best.

  • @bakudandanLL-the only retard here is you, a simple minded individual who would insult another person simple because they share their experience of a syndrome they have. Would you fricken make fun of someone with cancer? NO, someone with Diabetes? NO! so what the hell makes you think you have the right to say something like this to her? Fuck off ass whipe.

  • You are Beautiful and Strong! We...., (Tourette Sufferers) Need to be better Understood and NOT Judged! Kudos for your great videos:) Keep on doin what your doing! I back you up 100%:)

  • @c8kwalk Thank you soooo much, you seriously have no idea how much that means to me! :) I agree with the fact that we need to be better understood and not judged!!

  • OMFG

  • It's interesting to see the range of tics. You would consider this a bad tic day, but the tics you are doing I would consider a great day for me. For others they would consider this day bad. I hope you're tics don't interfere with your life to much!!! :)

  • I'm not trying to pitty you, but I feel 100% bad for anyone with TS, I just don't know, It makes me feel like I should take care of you or do something.. I'm personally sorry, don't ask me why.. ):

  • Thank you for the post Emma. I would have never looked at any of these videos 2-3 years ago. Ignorance is not bliss but it is a good hiding place. I have managed to keep my tics under much better control in the last 2 years. If I have a bad episode coming I can keep most of them them down until I'm at home & other times have learned how dismiss them at the start. I felt it was like retraining my brain, but think of it however you feel comfortable. You can do it!

  • i do those movements too : (

  • You are quite pretty ;)

I'm starting to get this facial tic and was researching videos when I came across this one. I've had it for the past two days, not sure if it's due to stress.

  • you're tongue tic is ADORABLE!!! haha :) wish i had your tics, mine are really loud -.- :P oh and ur neck tics look so painful! i have neck tics and i do the same thing as you, but watching someone else do it its all like OUCH :P stay strong !!!

  • @MeganSquareth45 Awe haha thanks ;) Mine are pretty obvious, not as loud as some people with tics, but mine aren't anything "normal" like sniffling or coughing, it's all ike squeaks and loud "hmphs!" Haha! Thanks! <3

  • its kinda cute :3

  • I am glad you posted this video. When I see persons other than me having a bad day like this I feel less strange. It's soothing to see some people living the same things. Thank you for this, it's really nice of you.

I have tourette's too and I do everything that is possible for it not to affect my everyday life and it works. Not playing the victim is the way to go. I like your way of being positive, even when you are having such a bad day! Thanks again!

  • @BlogMariano Awwe, thank you I'm really glad you found it useful! That's why I love to do my videos! Thanks for your comment it means a lot :)

  • I'm very sorry to hear how hard it is for you, I can relate 100% with vocal tics on top! But the vocal ones don't hurt at least, they're just embarassing! Just remember, with every bad day comes a good one and it will get better soon! Try to be strong, and know you'll make it through :)
