  • i have no idea on saltwater tanks only tropical freshwater but what do False Percula and Magnificent Anemone eat and how big do Magnificent Anemone get

  • I fed my fish Brine shrimp (stored frozen) and dried seaweed. The Anenome will eat anything it can, including other fish if it is able!

I'd feed it any dead fish in the tank and brine shrimp once a week. There are different thoughts on feeding the anenome. Some say the Clowns will help feed it, i've never noticed that.

    Good luck!

  • so pretty

  • First-class video! Really song!

  • how did u get ur clown to host it? u say its tank raised, and my tank raised true perc wont even go near my bubble tip ='( i wish they would become friends...very cool video.

  • @HaloKiller1166 most tank raised clowns will not take to an anemone, happens rarely, this guy's clowns did however, and so did mine :3

  • @00vampirate00 - i'm not so sure thats true, instinct is strong. I've seen it happen many times. Instinct usually takes over, but you are right, it may not for some reason.

  • @iblackbeard Yeah i have two, and only one fell in love with the anemone... so maybe it depends on the fish...or a 50% chance, who knows?

  • @HaloKiller1166 True Perc may or may not be able to be hosted by bubble tip. Depends on the fish. Other clownfish are much more likely to be hosted by bubble tip than a true percula.

  • how do you get them to host? bc i bought two im assuming tank raised ocelaris clowns, and they say tank raised cant host, so how did you get it to work? plz help me out p.s idont have an anemone yet i just need to know how to do it before.

  • Nice fish, my anemone is just doing nothing and I am a little worried, someone please post

  • looks comfy. also looks more like a ritteri anemone...

  • fish dont host anemones. Anemones host fish. the fish is the hosty the Anemone is the host. The title of this movie is inproper, it should be "Green bubble tip anemone hosting False Percula Clownfish"

  • O_O 0:54 to 0:56 look like the clown fish been eaten

  • wow awesome clowns! check out my maroons on my profile- mated GSM with a WSM! thanks!

  • What does GSM AND WSM mean?

  • sorry to ask questions but uh why is clown fis the only fish that can go in the sea anemone

  • A type of mucus protects the clownfish from the sting of anemone. : ) But other fish don't have this trait.

  • ppl who think tank raised clowns wont host in anemone r plain out redarted.... its called instinct ppl... wen u were a baby can u make out wat ppl r doin or eating,,, wen ur hungary u noe u want to eat...its call instinct

  • Hi there you seem to no what you are talking about please take a look at my vids and see if you no what type of anemone i have. Also is it true that a happy anemone stays where you put him mines been in the same place for nearly 2 years many thanks.

  • @maisieXshaun well if it has been there for 2 years i would assume it would be dead if it as unhealthy

  • i have 2 clownfish

there going very well and look very happy

  • heya, i think im getting clownfish for my birthday, are they hard work to look after? and is it better to get a pair? and if i do get a pair will they like lay eggs all over the place lol?

  • Not hard to take care of but they are gender neutral when young, they wont lay eggs every where but you will need a 5 or 10 gallon tank to put them in if it does happen. You dont need 2 clown fish but I think they look sad by there self :(

  • thank you for the help, and yeah i thought it would be a shame if they were on their own too:(

  • its adorable!

  • i have 3 clown fishes.. i love them

  • Clowns don't "host" or "host with" anemones. Anemones are "hosts". Therefore the anemone is "hosting" the clown. Just wanted to clear that up so you can correct your text.

  • true

  • Nice vid, but your wrong, Clowns do not require an anemone, and can live long productive lives without one.

  • most fish are born in captivity so they uselly dont know what a anemone is.

  • @jjrocks3333 thats not true tank bred clownfish are just as likely to host an anemone as wild clownfish

  • Hoping to get a biorb life square to get a pair of clown fish, as it looks like a nice easy way to keep tropical fish. But seeing your clown playing with an anenome makes me want a bigger tank!!

  • soooooooo cult

  • wow beautiful

  • awsome fish dude!

    ROCK ON FISHY BRO!

  • i think i need to get my tomato clown a partner man cuz its so lonely lol

and what do i do if it is not eating?

  • if he is not eating...it means he is stressed. make sure the water and light schedule are adequate. If it continues, he may not make it. Try different types of food in small amounts. Good Luck!

  • Remember all you Land Lovers!.....Research and talk to Others BEFORE you buy a salt water tank! Don't let them poor lil swimmers suffer due to YOUR ignorance! ARrghhhh!

  • how much did that clown fish cost and the stuff it lives in?

  • I paid about $16 for the clowns. The bubble tip was about $30. Yes it is expensive to keep a reef tank. The live rock can be around $8 per lb. I had about 70 lbs of live rock. You do the math. The live sand about $40. Lots of maintenance, testing and adjusting. Remember if you don't keep the water and lighting right, everything you just paid for...dies. Good luck

  • Thank you

  • do i need a good light for my live rock and 2 clown fishes?

or is that just for anemone and stuff

  • the bigger the tank, the more wattage you need. YES live rock is best in the right water temperature and light. Don't buy anything till you research. Or you'll be sorry. Good luck.

  • i got water temp at 75 and i think im getting 96 watt light maybe

  • How big is tank. Shoot for 3 to 5 watts per gallon

  • 14g so i guess its 70 watts is good?

  • that tank is a mini reef if you have rock involved. Are you using a hang on filter? If so, you didn't research enough and I doubt your tank will have long term success. You really need a sump/refugium.

  • protein skimmer power head some other filter is what i got sir =]

  • Arghh...a BIG Thumbs up for YOU Matie! Keep up the good work! Also...the smaller the tank, the more fragile it becomes, because small changes make a bigger difference. In a sense, a larger tank is easier to adjust in that regard.

Keep your good eye on her matie!

  • i got ma fish alrdy d damsels and a fire clown or tomato i think its tomato tho

the damsels are tiny added at same time as clown so they are not aggressive and both them lil damsels hang out =]

  • send ole iBlackbeard a picture of them, would love to see the lil critters!

  • will do as soon as i get my sisters camera lolz =] i had to give one of the damsles away it was getting beat up

  • what kind of lighting do you use for it? thanks and love the vid.

  • My tank is only a 55 gallon with CoraLife lighting 48" which includes: Two 65 watt Actinic and two 65 watt 10K compact fluorescent lamps. I liked the setup.

  • nice..you made a wise anemone choice though..carpets can be a bitch to keep and they get big. very aggressive

  • the clownfish looks alike nemo I love nemo its my favorite pixar movie I wonder where I can find a clownfish you know for a pet

  • Mate clownfish are amazing but research marine tanks they cost time and money

  • what does 'FALSE' percula fish mean?

  • False percula fish, is the name of the clown fish, the fish from finding nemo..lol

  • it looks like NEMO ......

  • why is it that every single Anemone fish gets Called nemo now?

  • not every fish , just clown fish ,

you didn't watch FINDING NEMO movie ?????? :o

  • because it looks like the fish in the movie called"finding nemo"

  • welcome

  • Mine wasn't. I named him Ernie

  • I've was kicked off of YouTube for months, sorry for not replying back, I couldn't LOGIN!!. I'm back in now, so, anyways, good to be back.

  • thats a beautiful clown i belive its a true peculaer its orange and black around the white is much darker and has a better glow the true pecular not only cost more than false but are much hardier fish most hobbyist would perfer the true pecular good luck with ur tank love the anemon

  • no, that is definitley a false percula clownfish. it doesn't have dark black around it's stripes. also, look at the description it says "false percula."

  • are you starting another reef fish tank at your new house right? please send

  • the new tank didn't happen, what a bummer! arrrrghhh!

  • its mucus doesn't sting, nematocysts w. toxins do

  • im buying that nemo clown fish im new for salt water tank...

  • dont.

  • I just bought a new tank raised ocellaris clownfish from my local pet store and I am just wondering how many weeks and days would my ocellaris clownfish tank raised could host my new bubble tip anemones?

  • anywhere from a few days, to a few months, to never:) good luck!

  • thats not a bubble tip man, its s ritteri, i have one just like yours. mines 6 inches though, and growing.

  • Sorry dude, I know what a bubble tip is, and its a Green Tipped Bubble Anenome. The funny thing is that it was REALLY Bubbly at the store, then when i got it home, the Tentacles deflated and went long and "fingerlike" the way it is in the video. Later.

  • Is the bubble tipped anemone the best choice for both True Perculas and False Ocelaris to host?

  • I recently Bought a Green Bubble-Tip Anemone and had 2 False Percula Clownfish...will they eventually go in there? OR...is the no guarantee?

  • usually if they are tank raised specimens they won't. this is because they have never seen one before (usually) and do not know what to do with it. Plus, they are not in the wild so they do not need it for protection. Just hope for the best:)

  • What is the clown fish doing to that plant?>

  • It's his home, he feels safe in it.:)

  • the perculas are cute!i got one today:)

  • i like ur anenome mine is a purple tip anenome i think????

  • Clownfish hosting with anemone may take longer if the clownfish is still at a young age. Clownfish usually host with common anemone such as sebae, condy, bubble tip, and others. On rare occasions, it may even host with corals as well such as the frogspawn. It really depends on what the clownfish likes.

  • how long dose it take for the percula clown fish to go into the bubble tip anemone??? cuz i hav both and i dont know how long it will take. (please reply)

  • This is not BTA. This is Magnificent Anemone. One of the poorest choice for captive systems. It grows very large and like to move about to find strong lighting and water movement.

  • Does the brine shrimp must be on the tentacle?

    or in the mouth?

  • I'm not sure I understand the question? try again, please. :)

  • It is a false percula clown. The true ones have thicker black around the middle white stripe. it's gorgeous tho, i'm going to be getting some in about three weeks!.

  • how do you feed the anemone?

  • You feed a anemone with phytoplankton.

  • Also, I do believe the clown will take food to the anenome at times. This anenome split into 2 seperate anenomes after a few months. I would not overfeed it. I fed mine once a week a piece of krill. It also got small scraps from the fish food (mysis, brine shrimp).

  • Looks like a true perc to me...it has black shading right behind its head leading to its dorsal fin.

  • thats so cool, is there anything i can do to get my clowns to host my bubble tip, i have a green one too, one of my clowns has looked at it and checked it out, it looked as if he got stung from it :S. how do the clowns get their immunity on their skin, are they born with it?

  • You can do nothing, first of all, the anenome will move all around until its comfortable, then the fish may notice and habitat with it after that. There is NO guarantee of this relationship. Thats why its best to study your choice of fish and anemome wisely. Make sure they are naturally compatible. A reputable fish store can help.

  • Yes, they have immunity on the skin. I think even inside the mouths, because I would see the clown sit with the tenticles in his mouth like he was playing with them. This is one of the mysteries of the ocean that I don't think is even fully understood. The anenome and the fish help each other. The anenome will happily sting or eat any other fish that should happen to swim into its tenticles. I loved my tank!

  • So that plant stings? how does it eat the fish? and what was the clown fish doing to it? and howcome it didnt get stung?

  • in order

    not a plant.

    its mucus stings.

it stings and wraps itself around the fish.

    clown fish lives in it.

    symbiotic relationship.

  • what exact type of bta is that and how big does it get?check my video to see if it will fit?

  • can get HUGE !!!

  • That's a False/Ocellaris Clownfish. Gorgeous though!

  • It actually seems to be a True based on the descriptions in many online articles and pics. Its hard to tell, but the bands have a thick black line around them and the dorsal fin is what is described as with a True. I believe the False have almost no distinguishing black line.

  • Not trying to be argumentative. It's just a false. As a matter of fact if you click on my name you will see the video I posted asking if it mine is a true or false. Back when I posted that video I had not seen that many clownfish, but now that I have seen many varieties in person I can easily tell the difference. After feeding mine cylopeeze and spectrum pellets it has a deeper orange/red color like yours. Look at all the other videos of false clowns here on youtube. We both have false clowns.

  • and he is not happy !

    :p

  • There just so cute!! Its even cuter how the clownfish swims through the sea anemone!
