I've always loved the single of Jessie but my daughter bought me the album for Mothers Day this year and I love it. Such beautiful music and lyrics, I agree with others, why was he not more popular? I know Jessie pops up now and again on radio but never heard any other tracks from this wonderful album being played, only by me - over and over!!

My husband bought this album for me in 1994. He sang all these songs to me, especially Beautiful in My Eyes, and this one. (We met, married, and lived in Georgia) I lost him in December of 2004, at the age of 43. Bob was the most beautiful man I will ever know. He was a fireman. These songs help me through every day and allow me to remember... Thank you so very much, Joshua. My heart will be forever grateful to you. God bless you. Wendy

I will use this song for my wedding in august, I just love Joshua Kadison! His songs are full of depth, gentleness and honesty. This singer is authentic and that´s the secret of it, what a petty you hear so little of his music nowadays..

It's actually pretty common knowledge that they dated in 1990 for about a year. There are many celebrity dating sites that refer to them as having dated at that time as well. I think the only rumor here is that they never dated... or even met.

But did you ever see them, when they dated? No? Me neither!

So I think the only people, you can really trust, are those, who must know the truth Joshua and SJP personally! During his last tour in Germany Joshua was asked for her several times and his answer was always the same: "No, we never dated! Not even met!"

"Jessie" refers to Sarah Jessica PArker from Sex in the City. Joshua Kadison used to date her. His nickname for her obviously coming from her middle name. Alot of people know about this - and alot of people don't. So - there ya go.

At some point, when my life calms down from its lunacy, I'd like to write that script based on painted desert. In my mind, I have the characters of Jessie, Rachel and, of course, Joshua, I know the beginning and the end. And, no, they never do make it to that trailer by the sea; in the end our piano player finds his rest, his peace, in Rachel's arms/

How do you explain the lines:

"There's a trailer by the sea down in Mexico.

We dreamt a lot about it but we never did go"

?

This clearly refers to the trailer which Jessie refers to in the earlier song.

What's more, I'm fairly sure the album's liftout states that Georgia Rain is the conclusion to Jessie. Can anyone confirm this?

I agree, painted desert serenade is one of the best albums I have heard. What a lovely voice he has. painted desert serenade being my fav on the album, but saying that it is very hard to choose.

I agree with you - it's a really good album and it is difficult to chose the best song on it but I've always liked Beautiful In My Eyes and this wins for me.

@Seanogoals It's one of the very few albums I have heard where I love every song. My personal favourite is Beau's All Night Radio Love Line, but they're all great.
