@Swordmaster1993 Yes the gibson sounds better. I've played both models and i didn't like the epiphone version at all. It looks good but is quite lackluster in my opinion. The gibson version, being made of solid wood, doesn't sound muffled (which is what i find to be the issue in most cheaper guitars) and has a very lovely mellow soundl
@minpinful i think it is decades since they stopped making badget-price guitars in japan, either acoustic or electric. The currently made in japan guitars like the YAIRI and the YAMAHA and TAKAMINE ''top'' models, are as expensive as Gibsons, Martins, Guild-usa and such.
too ...''boxy'' i'd say and not really gibson-sounding. one can see that the soundboard which i trust is solid -i am sure the rest is laminate- is not very high grade of wood. I think that in this price range a carefully chosen*** SEAGULL would be a much better deal if one can do without the fancy ''hummingbird'' looks.
***two identical solid cedar top, laminate back/sides Seagulls, may differ in sound quality.
@aznjt ive never owned a epiphone but they play ok not sure about the ej though. i have a martin xc1t elipse and a taylor 314ce. they are both great guitars the martin is a little bit more fagile and you have to be careful with it and the fishman mic in it is not my favorite. the taylor i like alot the taylor pick ups are amazing and its a sturdy guitar. the tones an martins and taylors are totally diferent taylors are bright and the martins are more rich. i perfer to play the taylor are strumin
This guitar is great! but factory strings on Epiphones is shit. That's why most of people think it sounds cheap. Change the strings, and you'll get fat acoustic sound!
i have this guitar! its great!!! OMG! one of my fav guitars, i like it, so i dnt see how it some people should hate it hmmm.and im surprised its only one dislike hahaa . its a great guitar
I have the heritage version of this guitar, and i can honestly say that after putting some good strings on it, it feels and sounds better than some gibsons i've played.
Is this going through an amp via a mic ? It sounds like you have added bass and reverb

This is a epipphone hummingbird? If the epiphone is losing quality. Bad sound, far from a top notch guitar

@yourmomwasherelol The gibson hummingbird has a better sound than the Epiphone hummingbird, right?
Swordmaster1993 1 week ago
@Swordmaster1993 idk man, i've never played one, but you're going to spend $2000 on the gibson version, why not just get a martin or something.

Sounds too umm....brittle for my taste. I'm thinking about getting the Takamine EF340SC. such a smoother, epic sound.

@robertj98 Why are you tone deaf? I'm a Martin owner and they are the best. I have a Blueridge BR 160. Gibson can't even touch Blueridge.
