  • 4:55 LOL

What Albert tried to do? LOL LOL LOL

  • dislike pride and joy played by srv and his master? wtf? what is good music to u?

  • i really hate how much stevie was underrated as a musician. he doesnt get half the credit he deserves. he plays with more soul and overall natural talent than anyone ever. i truly believe he is the greatest. hendrix is also really good dont get me wrong but lets face facts. if hendrix didnt die the way he did and just died naturally people wouldnt think of him as the greatest. im only 16 i never heard of stevie until 2 years ago when i started playing and i personally think hes the greatest

  • @dbreyfogle10

What planet do you live on...Stevie is widely considered one of the best guitar players ever. SRV learned tons from jimi and the likes of Albert King, Buddy Guy, BB King etc. and added his own style to the mix. Also, blues musicians aren't in a contest to claim who is the best, they respect and apprectiate those who came before them.

  • @dbreyfogle10 dude what everybody knows stevie. he was like number 7 in the list of best guitarist ever by rolling stone. albert was never given the exposure he deserved because he didnt have a break out hit like the thrill is gone from bb. he didn't make it until he was like 40 and started playing with clapton and those guys. Stevie and Jimi really take the stage when you mention guitar. come on man get ya shit together

  • hahaha I love how much albert king loves it... "HA! PRIDE AN JOIY!"

  • @Vikt0rEremita Haha, Albert was such an uplifting spirit!

ALSO, PLEASE LISTEN TO THE MUSIC ON MY CHANNEL! IF YOU LIKE SRV, THEN THIS WILL BLOW YOUR MIND!!!

  • wheres the 1080p????haha

  • two of the greatest guitarists ever. period.

  • Man, that's like being in heaven listening to these two masters. Stevie was and always will be, the greatest!!

  • fuck all these shredders today players like gilbert vai malmsteen and the rest could never play blues like srv or albert king and sorry if i come acroos as a hypocrite because of my name but i chose my name when i was an idiotic kid starting out at guitar i thought the best players were the shredders and thrash metallers but i was wrong guys like srv albert king page kossoff and rory gallagher are the masters they have the blues mastered

  • @shredmaster100 thank you for your honesty. you know what in a sense I've been playing blues and R&B for most of my guitar career and now I find myself WANTING to learn how to shred. I'm getting pretty good but my goal now is to find a way to shred with soul. It's hard to do both simultaneously but Steve Vai seems to be the best in my eye at doing the technical but still maintaining feeling. Also real shredders can be found without distortion.George Benson shredded a lil in a few of his songs

  • one of the best guitarists in my opinion was paul kossoff he was a genius on a les paul just a shame he couldnt kick the drugs like page and clapton did otherwise hed have lived a lot longer than he did and also check out some of robert johnsons old blues recordings they are very disturbing songs especially the devil blues thats a heavy metal song before metal existed

  • “…most guitar players, they just play fast and don’t concentrate on no soul, but you got ‘em both.”

  • @Woundheir You got it,todays guitarists are just showing off.All the greats,BB.Albert.Freddie King, albert collins,Buddy,T-Bone,Robert J.Muddy.All are incredible singers first, their solos are extentions of their vocals, which explains their guitar phaseing. If you cannot sing a guitar phase, you're playing scales,no feeling.

  • @Woundheir yep... seems all the good ones go too early and we are stuck with artists that try to sound like everyone else and have a money-first quality-last mindset. Also artists with real talent these days are highly underrated and get no respect. yet the no talent Ke$ha's, Selena Gomezes, and Gucci Mane's get all of the limelight.. hopefully the next generation of children will learn about REAL music early on so they won't have this problem. im complaining about this and im 25 myself

  • @mysterybat35 Sadly, it's not likely to happen. It's easier to make music on a soundboard and computer, plus nobody wants to take time to learn how music works and how to play something correctly. It's sad, really.

  • Stevie tuned up half a step to standard tuning ...

  • these two make my eyes water

  • I just found he was actually only like 5'7'' and had to see him next to the 6'4'' albert king to believe it. Coulda sworn Stevie was 7ft tall

  • @JamesCornelisonMusic I think Albert was a tall as Magic Slim!

  • @blusismylife : Met them both. Actually bummed a Chesterfield off Slim at an outdoor gig in Madison, Wisconsin, right before he played a set that recalibrated my understanding of "tight." Albert was taller. And downright mean. Except when one of his kids was dancing on his licks: See above.

  • My bad: It was a Viceroy.

  • @luv853okg i dont understood all what you said. Sorry, i'm brazilian! What is "tight"? what it means?

  • @luv853okg I think Albert was 6'4 (1,93m), just like Charlie Hargrett from Blackfoot and Magic Slim is about 6'3 (1,90m), maybe...

  • Stevie is such a good Padawan

  • What Albert says at the beginning is so true.

  • Master and apprentice. Apprentice does not accept that he has surpassed the master.

  • Why is Jodie Shaking her Rum On the suggestion videos ????

  • @ItsArnoldLozano Because music and women are both beautiful things?

  • @PBANDSNOW lol I guess

  • ESSES BABACAS QUE APARECEM NO CONTROLE DE SOM E IMAGEM N~´AO TEM NADA A VER COM O CLIP. ELES ESTRAGARAM O CLIP. PORQUE FILMAR UMS BABACAS QUE NÃO TE NADA A VER COM O SHOW? QUE NÃO

  • the greatest ever!! Period. End of story.

  • blues guitarists dont have to play 1000 notes they express in much fewer notes.

  • @MrGuitarman187 some of the best notes are the ones you dont play.

  • don't get any better than this.

  • "Haha! Pride and Joy!"

  • alberts in awe of stevie for the first 2 minutes its great to see

another brilliant player amazed by another

what a site to see so grateful for this beautiful video

  • SRV is god

  • the best of the best top 5 best guitarists in history period! I find Albert King underrated and better than BB King- thats my opinion

  • I've seen him without the hat!!! :o

  • this is my favorite song im 17 and i dont get why people listen to that crap pop music we have on the radio

  • @brownbassplayer im 17 too and we listen this because were on the elite of the music listeners

  • WHO THE F*** DISLIKED THIS YOU C****

  • ace jamming session, bet they both enjoyed it!

  • stevie is great but as soon as albert goes in it's like a whole different level of goosebumps lol

  • Who...... is the One, dislike?

  • @Caveman4860 a Justin Bieber fan !!

  • Stevie is THE BEST of BLUES!! THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST!

  • " I be tryin!!!" Damn right.

  • i love that little sound albert makes right in the beginning

  • Very well played by the band too!

  • Best version of Pride And Joy ever.

  • this guys are gods

  • Haha, looks like we got one Justin Bieber fan who just doesn't understand what REAL music is. LOL.

  • I'm guessing that King hasn't heard this song much from the intro, yet he still sounds amazing jamming with SRV here. That's the mark of a true guitar god.

  • perfeito!!!

  • I guess the one person who disliked this must be deaf!

  • It's cool to see Albert just jamming away to a song he never had played before

  • the 1 dislike has to be deaf.....and blind.....and watch american idol.

  • This is fascinating watching Albert playing rythym guitar. I know he was an unconventional player, but I never saw anyone play sliding 9th chords with their middle finger.

  • alright, ty needed this tune today, think I'll keep it around again

  • I downloaded this CD online a few years ago, Never saw the video till now. No idea this was recorded in the Hammer!!!

  • grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaatttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111

  • This is what i call an improvisation.

    Awsome!!

  • this is the only version of this song that i listen to. stevie ray vaughan and albert king.... stevie throwing it down as usual and albert kicking in some guitar solos into it..... if i could explain how this song sounds in just one word it would be: beautiful.... i feel privileged to hear and enjoy this classic duo of rock and blues legends..

  • Even the guys in the studio know how lucky they are to be there.

  • Comment removed

  • and other people are trying to get paid off of them.who ever put this back on the web I CAN'T SAY THANK YOU ENOUGH. i just love the music they play. THEY ARE AWESOME.and so are the people that keep posting it. THANK YOU

  • you can tell that they're old friends. because they compliment each other. some people say other musicians steal from other musicians.. i call it LEARNING ...stevie ray looked up to albert and bb and freddie and muddy. the blues are endless just like everything else in life. those two had a common bond together. the blues. and you can see it. i wish i couldl've seen it live. albert loved muddy waters and anything blues. you will never see anything like this again from anyone because lawyers

  • this is the best stuff!!! beats all the new stuff

  • R.I.P stevie

  • Wow it must be awesome when Albert King asks u too play your song for him!

  • They don't make gunslingers like these guys nowadays...

  • I bought the remastered CD and DVD combo- at Starbucks for 15$-look for it! Video helps learn some of the songs for blues guitar guys -good close ups.

  • how could someone not like this?

  • Comment removed

  • Albert was right. SRV had speed and soul. A rare thing with shredding guitar players.

  • If you ain't got soul, you ain't got shit. And these two had it in spades.

  • @Lameguitarist absolutly man, I have seen them both live and consider myself lucky to have been able to.

  • wtf? not only does he play left handed but upside down as well? and his ear is amazing too!

  • Whattta shame that he's gone. One of the greatest blues guitarist' ive ever heard!

    RIP SRV

  • Man, I saw this on PBS this weekend and went right out and bought 3 of his albums on MP3!!! THESE GUYS ARE UNBELIEVABLE!!! I had heard about him but never heard his music (Vaughn). I read up on him & found that he was born a day after me....and died in a helicopter crash (in fog) while leaving a show.....what a shame!

  • great song and great players

  • The mentor and the prodigy

  • stevie was singing like a man!!!die in hell justin bieber haha

  • @VictorGTone Die in hell?

  • this is wat keeps me from stop playing drums, kids at school are listening to chris and kate perry and ill be rocking to the real soul, im just glad i founnd a band of kids who play there insterments like me. to the blues. RIP SRV

  • @Snylor most importantly keep playing your music, but please learn grammar and spelling

  • @dyyb928 haha sorry i wrote it a bit fast lol

  • thats hot

  • I had the pleasure of seeing the Great Albert King in 1968 at the Rose Palace in L.A. He opened the show for a Birds concert. He and his band just rocked the house that night. The Birds paled in comparison. The audience was chanting "Bring back Albert King". I wish we could get them both back.... Thanks for posting this !

  • AAAHHHH!!!! Albert King! Now THAT'S the Blues. You can feel the Blues pulsating all throughout that man. It is tangible and its scope is eternal. What a legend.

  • who ever is the one dislike, is just a tool. I dont even know what else to say, two of the greatest and someone doesnt like it, tool.

  • JIP=Jam In Peace

  • Fuck to whoever request YouTube to take off this video once in a while. Eternal thx to the guys re-uploading it every time.

  • the student is having fun with his master

  • i need a shirt like that......... that and his guitar and style!

  • 2:55 beard man approves! As should everyone!

  • WoW!!! Huh,Just WoW!!! Some are blessed with talent, and others, well, just copy talent! Albert is Great! But Stevie is Exceptional!,But their would be no Stevie without Albert!!

  • @semiLivedj STEVIE IS EXCEPTIONAL?!? What could you possibly be smoking to say something as stupid as that?!? Stevie has to be one of the GREATEST blues guitarists of all time who met an untimely death and is extremely missed. and you say exceptional???

  • @colty0015 Dude, do you even know what "exceptional" means? Seems to me like you're getting all worked up over nothing while stumbling all over your own ignorance.

  • @FxManItalia haha ignorance... that should be your username on here. all im sayin is that ppl just dont give stevie the credit, or the respect that hes due sometimes. thats all im sayin. so go put your big boy panties on and dont get em all up in a wad next time. k thanx

  • @colty0015 Thanks for clearing up your intentions regarding your original post... sadly, you've mistaken me for someone who actually gives a poop.

Here's another word for you to look up today: "Apostrophe". Look into it, might actually make you appear less ignorant (stress on "appear"). Cheers!

  • @colty0015 Get yourself an thesaurus. Might be helpful.

  • Stevie says "I'm a Giant!"

  • @luvthatzeppelin It sounded to me like he said "I'll be tryin'"

  • @ishawnm

    I still hear ... "I'm a Giant!

    :)

  • Man,to have Albert King tell you "you got it" and he asks 2 jam on one of your songs when you've been tryin 2 play his all your life.....Anyone ever think this is what the scene looked like when Stevie made it up there that night?

  • Cool how another great guitarist can just hop in and feel the soul of a song and play like it's been rehearsed and now days these idiots would be scratching their asses with no clue on what to do.. I love it.

  • I still am amazed that Albert plays with the strings reversed. amazing

  • 1 dislike ...he must be on hard drugs ..!

  • How does this not even have 50,000 views?

  • I saw this on TV the other day.. Stevie was only 29 here.. I LOVEE IT, thanks for the vid.. wowow

  • Holy hell Albert is killing me all out of tune and no clue what to play.

His action is so low you can hear it scraping and rubbing the frets.

    Arrrrgh! Torture to my ears!

You can even tell Stevie is dying hearing him like that.

Stevie is still the man though. R.I.P. S.R.V.

  • @evh7775150 Go troll somewhere else. King absolutely kills it in this session

  • @tMattLZ Evh is tight. Mr. King is out of it on this tune. You can't hear that?

  • @tMattLZ Just because you're tone deaf does not make it fact. I have nothing against Albert. It's just this session that he's out of tune and fumbling around in. It's like B.B. King live. He does it some times too when playing w/ more advanced players in a show that is not strictily his own material. (On a tune he doesn't really have rehearsed). If you can't hear it. Than it sucks to be you. I've had proven perfect pitch since birth. Pro lead axe player. And it kills my ears to hear this.

  • @evh7775150 Oh yeah I agree I’ve had a proven I.Q. of 480 since birth. I actually invented the guitar so that makes me a pro at everything about guitar. I’m a pro at everything music so I know what is good music that’s why I’m a famous musician posting comments on grammy winning musicians videos cutting down there musical abilities since I’m god at everything and haven’t sold any grammy winning albums that still makes what I say very important to other people…go eat shit.

  • @DejaBlues he may be an asshole but he's partly right... Albert's solo rocks good time but the majority of his fills just don't cut it.... and I love albert king

  • @pagalovic

They are two VERY different players. Both are great though. Probably my two favourite blues players. I thought the same of SRV in the Born Under A Bad Sign in this same performance.

  • @pagalovic show the a guitar player who can fill in with just about anyone and make it sound as good as albert. in the early years this man was playin behind rock bands not jus blues players. you can him with the doors, jimi and so on. the man was badddd..

  • Comment removed

  • You can just see the respect that SRV has for the great Albert King you can just see how Stevie was just in AWE......... SRV FOREVER

  • THE DAMM TEXAS BLUE'S

  • That was Epic.

  • Nao Albert an SRV are playing in the sky and all fans are happy

  • this is sick

  • two of the best blues guitarists EVER!!!!

  • @MrShadysclone Correction; The two best blues guitarists EVER!!!!

  • Well, it feels a bit weird to hear this amazing piece of music in the key o E instead of Eb after some years of listening to Stevie. But what does not change is that it's still marvelous :)

  • Stevie ray could smash the guitar over his head and it would still sound better than anything on America Idol.

  • @LunchSock who cares

  • @antraxptpt Does he? I guess 13 people and this "Who" fellow you speak of must really care.

  • @LunchSock sorry mate :D just hate stupid comparisons

  • @antraxptpt Ah I see, no problem man. I normally hate shit like that to, but I think American Idol is an exception to that. It's no worse than the "number of dislikes relating to the video comment". You know like "1 person got no pride and joy" as a poor example.

  • @LunchSock yes lol that is pretty much worse. yay i raged at you and made a new friend

  • @LunchSock LMAO

  • Albert is so jealous

  • thats one bad ass white boy!!!! R.I.P to both of these great blues men

  • thats one bad ass white boy!!!! lol

  • oh he's tryin' hard to hold back, you can just see him almost foaming at the mouth : ) very well done SRV!

  • stevie plays on the exact beat albert snaps to

  • Stevie is REALLY trying hard to pull back and not do his dweedly dweedly thing on this recording and it really works here. His restraint is breathtaking. Im really burned out on his over the top style but he BURNS and is in a land all by himself, no doubt about it. He feels what he plays which is the whole point but most people simply can't feel that much soul ALL THE FRIGGING TIME which is what makes his shows some of the best guitar shows humanity has ever seen. : )

  • @schlooterhead He's hardly "trying hard" since he knew what he wanted to do and why; he spoke about it to "Musician" Magazine a few months later:

”….I wanted to be able to give Albert a chance to put out a record that sounds like he wants to sound for a change, as opposed to a producer molding his sound. He wants things exactly like he wants ‘em. That takes pretty easy-to-deal-with musicians because when Albert wants somethin’, he gets it or he gets mad. And I can understand it”

  • Albert King added some soul to this song didnt make it better just made it into a whole new song......one word describes this song with these two.....DAMN

  • Wow

  • that is insane! how they exchange solos, riffs... :D

  • This is a must add to your DVD or if available Blu Ray Collection!!!! Hot!!!!!!

  • OP is enjoying at 2:50

  • Shit. What's not to like?

  • bliss. this is what heaven sounds like

  • As a Hamilton boy. I had NO idea this ever took place. SRV... I remember the day you died. How it came on the radio and the DJ was chocked up, not beleiving he was to tell us what happened that tragic day. I was just discovering you as an influence. You were just some records kicking around that my brother owned. But THANK GOD I put Texas Flood on the turntable to check it out... I can understand,, why Eric Clapton was nervous about going on after you. You are deeply missed SR!

  • @heartonasleeve1 i used to live up on the mountain and i still watch chch from time to time but they really pulled off a great recording here. sort of like god visits your town but you don't know it untill he's gone!!

  • @1i1feat I lived on the mountain too. Upper Sherman and Fennel area. Could you imagine KNOWING that was going on at CHCH!! I think SRV out plays Albert. But it's just Stevie doing Albert. LOL

  • holy crap

  • break it down stevie!!!!.... and im digging that jazz beat that albert king brings to the song.......

  • Stevie is just absorbing the game that's being given to him. Genius.

  • im watching my idol jam with his idol and life is great

  • @TheBluesboy15

    me too... ;)

  • Albert King is feeling that beat!!!

  • from the start of the vid to :30 seconds in, pay attention to what abert king is talking about... amen to you abert king, i couldnt of said it better!

  • all you rappers out there, take notes... you stripped away what music truly is about.... the music.... you can turn the sound off on this video and still see how much heart and soul srv and abert king put into there music.. turn the sound off on a rap video and wut do you see? a bunch of grown ass men jumpin around wavin their arms or sum shit... hell you can see dat shit at a loony bin..... lyrics dont matter, its all bout the music.... R.A.P.= RETARDS ATTEMPTING POETRY.. so again take notes..

  • if you ever wondered what da definition of "cool" is, jus watch this video....

  • @TheRabbit223 right on brother!

  • @mistadobalina29 hell yea right on.. when it comes to music, i know what im talkin about.. but its good to know that there is someone out there who is like me and can look past their rotted ego and see what it truly is to be cool... i would give anything to be able to play like these guys and to play onstage jus one time.... that would truly be cool to me... it would almost be as good of a feeling as sex (keyword= almost).. thanks for the reply brother, i gave it a thumbs up

  • call me crazy, but i think dat stevie ray vaughan wouldve made a pretty good joker in the batman movies.... when he smiles, he reminds me of jack nicholson in tim burton's batman

  • hell yea they shot this 3 years and 364 days before my birthday.... (my birthday is december 5, 1987 for thoses who dont care or cant do da math)

  • @TheRabbit223 It was 1460 days, exactly 4 years, before your birth date of 12/5/87, due to a leap year.

  • @bobsacamano1 wow i was off by a day.. i took a day off when i didnt need to
