This is the only part of the movie that I don't and never liked. It scared the shit out of me as a kid, and it still does now - and I am a grown man pushing 40.
I always wondered what Stripe was doing at the end of this scene. He blows into a kleenex and says "Oohhh" Then he runs away. I don't know I was thinking that maybe Stripe was crying over the loss of his fellow gremlins, so he was wiping away tears with a kleenex haha. I don't know maybe I'm off, but that's what I always thought. Oh poor Stripe was in mourning over his fellow gremlin brothers.
Awww stripe is just to cute! He ( for me ) tied with Gizmo for cutest gremmy! I really want stripe to be in the second and third but the second came out with stripe's reincarnation, Spider. He was more wicked than Stripe, but not as suprising and scary! I say, in the third one Stripe should come back with Spider and the smart one, George! haha(: I would never watch any movie again besides this gremlin movie! And the kitchen scene is sooo hilarious, blenders and microwaves! oh my! (: well thanks

I think the gremlins are just a bunch of monsters that just want to have fun and to be accepted. They don't value anything though; they'll break anything and everything for the sake of having fun. They know that the people don't like them and that's why they'll attack to defend themselves. When someone freaks out as they attack, that's what riles them up even more.
@chuckmanofgod Thats a good observation, and you also have to remember, Billy's Mother had just killed three of their Brethren, so maybe they had identified her as a threat to them.
I DID find this scary! [not anymore though, haha] I read from somewhere that in the original script that lady (omg can't remember her name) was supposed to die in this scene.
I LOVED THIS PART BUT I LIKED THE PART WHEN THE OLD LADY GETS TROWN OUT THE WINDOW MORE!
