You've basically got this technically handled, but you also play it really carefully and rather tentatively at times. You ought to try re-recording this and just letting it rip so that it can soar emotionally.

Btw, nice sound out of a Squier. The pickups on them are not that good, but you definitely got a decent tone out of them here.

Ultimate Guitar's site has many Santana guitar tabs. Just Google Power tab editor to download the free program to play & view the guitar tab files. Then download Samba Pa Ti file at Ultimate guitar & open with the PT editor. That's where I got this version though I did play some parts in different positions. Same notes though. Message me if you have any problems getting it to work.

Hey! Thanks for the comment on my Samba Pa Ti vid. Your tone here is very good too! Just get some smoother endings on notes - I always suggest microbends (upwards, to make it sound sort of "crying") and slides. And sometimes it just seems you hold the guitar really hard, but that's probably just a personal style thing. Add a bit more vibrato and your playing will be on fire! 5 stars!

I used a Marshall Stack amp model on low gain (16 on a 1 to 100 scale) with the bass on -4,mid gain on 5,& treble on 7 with the volume about 35; up a little bit higher in the second half of the song. I also added a little delay,compression,& reverb to add a little more sustain. Lower gain & volume being the most important.

Ultimate Guitar has a good Power Tab for this song.I played the 5th & 7th fret notes on the high E string on the 10th & 12th fret on the B string in spots because I thought they sounded better but their the same notes.Same with the beginning;instead of 7-9-10 on the G string I went 7 on the G string & 4-5 on the B string. Same notes just different positions on the neck.You'll need to download the free Power Tab editor to play the Power Tab file.Good luck!

I'm using an old Squier Bullet with a humbucker, no tone control, just volume control. I also have an acoustic guitar I picked up in Mexico about a month ago. Made in Paracho Michoacan.
