I've seen dozens of your videos and for a while I was convinced you couldn't play faster and more difficult pieces. I stand corrected: this was as clean and musical as your BWV1007 Prelude and looked just as effortless. Bravo!
very nice, I was given this suite to learn by my teacher and I've got the prelude down, just need to be steady with the presto. Otherwise awesome work, truly experienced hands performed exceedingly well. XD
Brilliantly played :) I'm trying obsessively to learn this right now. Bach's my favourite composer but it will only be the 2nd one of his that I've played - planning on learning the whole suite. I'll check out some of your other videos.
I wish I could post a commentary in sound form. I'd whistle the beginning of the presto part. Daa daa dada dada daa daa, daa daa dada dada daa daa. ^^ Yours is by far my favorite rendition on youtube! The only youtube classical guitar videos that can almost keep up in making me happy are the ones by anhess.
Per-Olov - I just have to say that I am in your debt, I am currently consumed by learning this prelude and this interpretation has totally reinvented my undestanding of the piece.
Thankyou and keep making (and posting) beautiful music.
This is by far the nicest transition from the Prelude to the Presto I've seen (or rather heard). Total Eargasm. Doumo Arigatou Gozaimashita, Kindgren-sama :)
what brand and model is your guitar?! Your fingers seemed to snake over the frets with such ease, I want to be able to play like that without killing my fingers on a guitar with poor action. Thanks!
I am searching for your Bach Lute Suite No.1 BWV996 Part3 Courante. I have no problems finding you playi the rest of the suite but this Courante is not there? If not, you would probably give all of your fans a big treat. As always, you played this Prelude beautifully.
I wish I had such an astounding classical guitar , I mean I lke my classical guitar ,but when I listen to the sounds of that guitar it gives me the feeling of falling in love...
After watching such great classic guitar players I'm starting to think about giving up my passion for electric guitars and going in for classic ones... THUMBS UP!!! MARVELLOUS!!!
Well, I sort of started playing the guitar 9,5 years ago. Back in those days I was inspired by Metallica a lot, but nonetheless my first guitar was a classic. I even took some lessons on classic guitar. Then after about 1,5 years I had to move to another apartment at the other end of the city, so I had to abandon that tutor (and he was great - had that 19th century style and aura around him). Anyway, nowadays I'm playing the electric guitar.
i'll never get tired of hearing you playing Bach on guitar!!! you're my inspiration for picking up the classical guitar again. so far i figured out 2 of your Bach arrangements.
This is beautifully and perfectly played. How do you make Bach appear so easy to play while it's so difficult? Your playing is wonderful and is extremely inspiring. A touch of beauty in this otherwise difficult world. People like you make this life bearable.
The Prelude is sooo beautiful! And yes I think too to play it as an improvisaion makes sense.(what say nothing if I offer my opinion but now it has happened)
Well done Maestro and your guitar sounds magically!
5/5 stars!! Peo, the Preludium works brilliantly with the unconventional tempo you played it in. I've always thought William's interpretation was the litmus, but you've shown me otherwise. I alos compose music for lute- in a neobaroque idiom, true to the spirit of JSB and Weiss. I'd be honored for you to check out my works as a fellow composer.
This is rather good. Who is this 'Bach', by the way?! On a serious note, another wonderful performance doing justice to the work of the formidable Master.
LOL! I love the Oscar Wilde quote. And yes, I'm stil here.
I have a long standing love and fascination for Bach, and his staunch demands on musicians. You play the range of his expressions as if you learned them from him personally. (Though I believe that would make you rather old...) Beautifully done! And some real snap in the Presto!
Very nice. May I ask what microphone you use to record your performances? I have difficulty recording the classical guitar, but this sounds quite nice.

Dear Per, I am speechless and do not say this
lightly! You have produced a new interpretation of this wonderful composition (one of my favorite of all times) and I prefer it even to that
of John Williams. The "improvisation" style of
the first part sounds very appropriate and adds to the transition effect towards the
second very stylistic part. Just a marvelous job!
Thank you and take care, - Athan
