European cities are boring, no skylines but Frankfurt.

Londons skyline is lame, still horizontal!!

    peace out.

  • European Cities dont need a skyline... Our cities here are full of culture and history... I think that this is much more interesting to explore than the skyscrapers... And imagine... There´re no slums in european cities....

  • But their old and well non-modern

    :/

sorry but your stuck in the 19th century buddy. I'm in 2009 world =D

  • Old but with style... Only one piece of the Coloseum in Rome or Acropolis in Athens has more worth than the whole skyline of New York.... And this buildings are more than 3000 years old....buddy... got it?

  • you said it yourself their 3000 YEARS OLD!!!

they need to get demolished already its an old shitty waste of space. move on with life, build skyscrapers.

Look at the cities of the US they are all the same with the same system... skyscrapres in the center and than streets and avenues behind... they look all similar and i thing this is boring and lame... Every European city has his own style his own magic and this is simply beutiful...

  • hahah yea but jerusalem it's also arabs so israel define tel aviv as the biggest city in israel :)

  • where is beirut???

  • Atlanta, GA FTW!

  • berlin xD

  • Los Angeles xD

  • jakarta!

  • If you are going to have North American cities, then the list should include: Halifax, Quebec City, and Calgary during the stampede. Many of the Eastern Canadian cities were built 50 years after the end of the medieval period and have spectacular architecture.

  • shirehorse9- which medieval period are you referring to? It differs slightly from country to country. In the UK its generally considered 1066-1485 or 1509. In other parts of Europe its later. Just curious*

  • I'm using the general date for the end of the medieval period in Western Europe. The date usually given is 1550.

  • shirehorse9- Thankyou

  • I lived in London, UK and NYC, but I'd take Toronto over any of them. It's got be one of the vibrant and wildest cities in the world. Radically minded people.

  • Merry Christmas from Sunderland UK!

  • cairo isnt the same as every other city

it is one of the best cities though

  • kareem2018- im not sure if any two cities are exactly the same. Thats one thing I love about cities. Cairo I would like to visit.

  • wheres guadalajara and monterrey????????

  • what is the name of that song/music??????

  • Biggest and the most badass :NYC !!

  • edinburgh is awesome !!:)

  • where is vienna?? the most beautiful city in the world

  • Austria, EU

  • I know, I´m from vienna^^. but it´s missing in this video...

  • oops. i misinterpreted what u said

  • no problem...

  • Where the fuck did Melbourne go? I've been to Madison, Wisconsin and it's great in all but No Melbourne, Perth, Auckland? Pyongyang for christ sakes?

  • Nicely done! LOL the Pyongyang, never knew thay had so many buildings! If there were a bit less US cities, this would be a really amazing vid. IF you spent just a bit more time, and got a wonderful picture of each city's centre, this vid should be on TV!

  • nice video but i have to leave some comments;

why did u have to precise that montreal and vancouver r in Canada? they r famous enough lol...

also, it's Toronto and not Tronto lol.

    anyway good job my friend

  • ROME!

  • where is dresden (germany)??? the nicest city in the world. greetings from there:-).

  • It's all about the "Seoul" of Asia!

But I like Tokyo, NY, Chicago, and Dubai!! :]

  • I love to add my own music when watching this, yo thanks man!

  • Go Paris ! One of the 4 global cities in the world ! PARIS LONDON NY and TOKYO all the way !

  • Sydney, best city in the world! No landmark can beat the Harbour Bridge and Opera House!

  • the urban centre of europe is the belgian and the netherlands area, together with the ruhr area in germany, and the cities paris and london. toghether they contain almost 50 million people.

thats more than metropolis new york-philadelphia, and metropolis tokyo-nagasaki!

  • if counted in this way, the metropolis hongkong-shenzhen-canton great pearl river delta will have the most population. any way, we dont see hong kong, shenzhen and canton as a unity, because hong kong is different enough and qualitified (either geographically, culturally or economically) to be an entity.

  • I live in Söderhamn,Sweden Söderhamn is the most crapy and boring city in the world

    I like

    1.Hong Kong

    2.Shanghai

    3.New York

    4.Singapore

  • NY > London > Hong Kong > Tokyo > Paris

NY - biggest and grandest city , one of the two true global cities

London - geographically center of the globe, origin of many world standards, another one of the two true global cities

  • Hong Kong - Busiest city , best skyline and one of the world's three best harbors, niche global city , economically center of asia

Tokyo - modernest and most complicated city ,

niche global city , economical and technological giant

Paris - most cultural city , center of Europe , niche global city

  • infact liverpool in the United Kingdom was awarded most cultural city .... so up yours !

  • dothatandthis- Liverpool was awarded joint European Capital of Culture 2008. Its a great city but why be rude about it? Most cities have something to offer. Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong are all impressive cities.

  • No,Frankfurt

Germany is the most powerful country in Europe

    1.Germany

    2.France

    3.England

  • JohnMIB- Depends what you mean by power. Unlike the UK and France, it has no nuclear weapons but it does indeed have the largest economy. Personally I think the UK, France and Germany are about equal overall in terms of power.

By the way 'England' is not really an accurate description. The United Kingdom is the name of the whole country. England is a nation within the UK, a bit like Bavaria being a state within Germany.

  • For some reason my results 91-150 arent apearing. Nevermind

  • NO any city will show a greater contrast than hong kong -dense skyscrapers surrounded by wide wild country parks(count for almost 90% of the territories),hi-tech buildings abundant with traditional ornaments, barren rocks habited by a great variety of organisms,(to be honest and sad)with nearly richest and poorest ppl in the same place, west culture meets and mixed well with east's. and of the upmost importance, hong kong may be the last resort and representative of TRADITIONAL chinese culture!

  • CondorFlyingHigh cont.. of Buenos Aires it looks like a city of 11/12 million- not the official 3 million! Anyway thanks a lot for your reply and compliments. I appreciate that. Im gonna finish my 'survey' now. Best wishes from the UK.

  • cont... which I understand go well beyond the 'City of Buenos Aires' Therefore ive included most of this urban area based on the satellite image and description in wikipedia. Given the importance of Buenos Aires all round I decided the official city population would be very misleading for the huge scale of Greater Buenos Aires. I done something similiar with Metro Manila- again the figure is much higher than the official city boundaries because it is so built up. When I look at the skyline cont.

  • Great data, Culave! The only problem is, many cities in some developing nations don't have updated data. Lagos, Nigeria, for example. Nobody knows wether it has 4 million, or 6 million, or even 10 million people!!! They have never conducted a census!!!

I think Buenos Aires has surpassed the 12 million threshold.

    Greetings from Argentina

  • CondorFlyingHigh- True- indeed Lagos is problematic because official census's have only been taken every 15 years or so, so the population given is unreliable and controversial. It's said to be anything from 8-15 million and in twenty years will be the third most populous city. In retrospect my own figure is probably too low. Similiar problems exist with other African cities such as Abidjan and Luanda. The figure I gave for Buenos Aires includes places like Mulcahy, El Tejar and Palo Blanco con.

  • cont... trends which in some cases have been loose estimates based on population increase/decrease, density and satellite images. Feel free to disagree with my results. I just ask you not to add unnecessary insults (this is just for fun) Here are my final results; (figures are in millions)

  • Hello people. Ive long been interested in urban demographics. I conducted a study at the start of this year to see where major cities rank in terms of population. My figures represent the 'immediate urban mass' and not necessarilly the legal city definition. I have taken into account certain trends such as unregistred migrants or 'floating population' In some cases I have added large sections of the metro area if they are indistinct from the city proper. My sources are based on population cont..

  • Where exactly is this place you call Tronto?6:27 looks more like Toronto...

  • what about Hamburg?

  • Too many US cities....posted by American?

  • Maybe because america has beautyful cities?

  • Numata city, which is in 150 kilo meters north east of Tokyo, is the best in the world!!

  • You seem to take offense very fast.

    Every city has its particularity.

And no I have visited a hanfull of cities. Although I dont need to visit any other city to know that "the city that never sleeps" is one of Montreals logos.

Moscow also has a good nightlife, so perhaps the same logo is appointed to it.

Please tone down, we are not here to debate or start an argument.

  • those cities are quite soviet. They showed Moscow and there is nothing to see (except Kremlin, which they didn't show).

  • As its been said, you cannot characterise a city with a photo.

The picture of my own city is also dull.

Montreal, the city that never sleeps ;)

  • Any big city can be called "never sleeps", NY, Moscow, etc. Didn't you know?

  • Yup, but Montreal is reknown for its nightlife and the threrefore this title suits it better than most cities.

  • No, I bet the only city you lived is Montreal and that's why you think that any other village doesn't have great night life. You also look illiterate a bit because think that Moscow, London or NY (not european) don't have such a great night life. Why Montreal's night life is such unique? You have never visited any other city? Lol.

  • it's not my intention to criticize yr good job, but u must know better the cities u put here.. i mean, sao paulo, for exemple, u took a pic that makes the city seem to be 10 times smaller than its real size.

  • My top ten cities: 1 Zurich 2 Toronto 3 Sydney 4 Milan 5 Bern 6 Montréal 7 Vancouver 8 Munich 9 Miami 10 Chicago PS its "Toronto" not "Tronto"
  • Yeah, Tronto, lol.

  • A city can't be characterized or judged by a single photograph.

  • Nutane- thats a good point- cities are like very complex people

  • Old York is much better than New York. NY was like a primitive test tube baby being born without any legs.

  • givemeanyname1- you mean the British city of York?

  • Personally I think Paris is overrated. Disneyland is all right but the rest isn't as great as they say.

  • so many many many cities missing !!

  • it's funny how sixty percent of the cities shown here are from the USA. I'm so gald I live in the U.S. it's so beautiful............peace!!!!

  • Yeah i gotta say London is the king of cities. I've been to New York and loved it. So much energy and diversity. I actually lived in Hong Kong and loved my time there. It can be a bit too hectic there though. Paris is OK, but it doesn't the X factor London and NY have. Berlin is great for about 2-3 days, after a while u get bored and it isn't one of the true great cities. I've never been to the Spanish mainland or Dubai. Would love to go to both.

  • New York...I Love NY so much...

  • top cities for me: 1 shenyang 2 singapore 3 beijing 4 new york 5 hongkong 6 shanghai 7 taipei 8 melbourne 9 sydney 10 paris
  • I'd prefer Frankfurt to live or Paris!

  • BIG D!

  • LONDON LONDON!

  • its all about LONDON...the BEST city in the wolrd...no other city can compete with London...New York is a stereotypical city with loads of skyscrapers..no history..once you've seen the empire state you've seen them all...London however has a wide variety of buildings and has a history which goes back hundreds of years..not only this..but it must be one of the most diverse cities in the world...LONDONNNNN RULESSS

  • Athens, Budapest not there? :(

  • Tronto.....lol :)

  • live in:chicago

    like:(besides chicago) ATLANTA!!!
