  • Traditional Thai dessert. I remember when I was younger I like to helped my grandmother in the kitchen to cook this dessert. That what happen 33 years ago. Since my grandmother past away I fell that this dessert have been changed a lot how to cook and also how to make the powder. The people don't know how to make properly powder now. Most people when to the shop and by some powder inside the bag and then mixed with the water. Very easy to do but test is never same like before.

  • @wigunda78 haha yeah I love Khanom Kok tooo

  • how is it made with coconut milk???

  • My guess is rice flour mixed with water is added to coconut milk and cooked in the mold. It is a kind of coconut milk and rice flour pancake. They weren't too sweet. Perfect for breakfast!

  • anyone have a recipe for this? thanks

  • Yeah, It's actually called 'Khanom Krok' (Mortar snack)

  • Thank you for your advice. Yes, I had many advices, but finally I changed it to the right name now.

  • How delicious desserts !

  • wow! who ordered that much? is it really good?

  • We didn't order all that. One portion was 12 pieces. We only ordered one portion since we didn't know what we were buying then at all. Only slightly sweet and they were great for breakfast.

  • It actually calls "Khanom Krok".

  • everything tastes better when its miny

  • one of my favorite desserts. yum!! does anyone have the recipe they would want to share?

  • they have it on different websites. just type in kanom krok. that's how the thai's and laos pronounce it. i don't know how cambodians pronounce it. Also people need to get over the past about what went on with all the thais, laos, and cambodians. that's so long ago. if u have a problem with it, then what are you going to do about it? Nothing! (that comment wasn't directed at you casperaway, sorry) if its good, people will eat it. don't have to be cambodian to eat it.

  • BTW pomefrite, the icon image by your username is a Cambodian ancient temple. Phimai was a part of Cambodian territory before Thai encroachment.

  • The correct name for this appetizer is Nom Krok NOT "Khanom Koh". Nom Koh is another Cambodian dessert.

This is traditional Cambodian Nom Krok meaning hot pot cake flavored with coconut. Popular among students and children. Also eaten by many Cambodian in present-day "Thailand." Well, now eaten by the Thai as well. Hope you give credit to the owner.

  • Really?...Do you have any evidence?

  • no its not just made in the present day. They also hav it in laos but their are just different types in different countries and my grandmas had it since she was little so no.

  • 60 cents.. wow..

  • my mom flips 'em over on top of each other when they're firm on the bottom, but still slushy at the top so they look like flying saucers. =p

  • yeah thats how they do them here in phuket, thailand, I cant stop eating them, down at the markets everyday getting piping hot batches!

  • i tasted this before at the asian festival. if you love coconut, try this..

  • It's called "Khanom Khok" yammy yammy I loves it:))))

  • are those the same ones that they sell at asian stores and they come in different colors mostly green and white and pink??..if so then yupp their good to chew on tasty
