You've probably got the European version, like me. The American dub refers to him as Jimmy, while the European dubs retain their original Japanese names. Plus, Pipotchi's name sounds better with the second syllable emphasized rather than the first :D

True, but they ended up butchering the voice acting in the European versions. I really like how they used to voice actors from Pokemon in the US version, but why did they have to change it when they released it in Europe!? The re-dub for the European versions was both pointless and incredibly lame.

Actually, it was the Europeans that got it first, so don't blame any decisions made by Sony Europe in terms of the dubbing there (hence for some reason Pink's voice is the same in both versions). If anything, I put it all down to Sony America initially rejecting to publish Ape Escape 2 in America (probably due to how they felt the series won't catch on beyond the first title) and their conflicting feelings on the franchise with the rest of the world at the time of release.
