I love this song, but this album as a whole seems kind of transitional to me, kind of like a necessary step from Sphire-Croid to Bottom of Chaos. Not a bad thing though, not at all. There are a bunch of great songs on their self-titled album. I think because of it's transitionary style, it is the best reflection of everything that is Rentrer en Soi. ;]

RES may remind a lot of people of Diru because Kyo actually helped train Satsuki, so obviously, some of his technique rubbed off on him. Not to mention, Diru's one of his favourite bands. It happens.  Just don't get them confused. Diru are too 'hardcore' to have ever dressed as women, remember ;]?

I find the 'Kyo ruined ReS' arguement pretty empty, considering Kyo is credited as 'vocal agitator' on Sphire-Croid, which is stylistically firmly embedded in their 'old style.' And anyway, I don't see much Dir en grey in ReS at all. They are both Japanese and metal-oriented. That's about it. There is more Nirvana influence than Diru influence in my opinion, given certain song names as well as the structure of a number of songs from TBoC-era and onward.

When they tour, they want to promote their upcoming release so their setlist will more contain new music, but don't be mistaken, Dir en grey knows their roots. Much like RENTRER EN SOI. At their last concert, they played A Prelude. Do you have any idea how old that song is?

I hardly think either Diru's musical evolution or ReS' own has much to do with Warcon and their marketing. I really wish people would stop bashing the music and art these people do simply because it's no longer the same glitzy visual kei from the late 90s. Dir en grey was always dedicated to experimenting with their sound and they love what they're doing, and so does ReS. You should be proud of their evolutions, not hateful.

'Get better' makes it sound like an illness when the band is merely progressing musically. Some bands are actually involved in their music so it evolves and changes with them. If we're going to make a Dir en Grey reference about eye gouging, try Raison D'etre, not Obscure.
