Any man who watches a van damme movie and expects awesome acting is a fool. Van Damme's movies are a sheer joy to watch. They're insperational and they kick ass but anyone who complains "the acting in bloodsport was a letdown" is a complete fool.

Van Damme's acting actual got better as time went on, depending on the role. Expecially the movies he makes now, because he directs them and really gets into the role. He did Nowhere to Run and JCVD very well, the critics said he deserved not a black belt but an oscar. But yeah, for the most part, expecially the fighting movies, it's not about acting.

I watched bloodsport a few days ago. Not a bad story, and the fight scenes were pretty good but my word, the acting... that was the letdown of the film. Some found it hard to get into because of the crap acting
