A part of the movie I never understood: it's not shown in this clip, but just before Doc slides down, he attaches a metal loop around the arms of the clock. What is the purpose of that? If he's going to slide down that, doesn't the other end have to be connected to something on the ground? Why doesn't he just slide down the electrical wire?
I'm almost positive that the metal loop was part of the electrical wire. Right before he starts to slide down, there's a quick shot of it wrapped several times around the clock's big hand. Had he not done that, it would've disconnected for a third time, haha, Not to mention he'd fall as well D=
@PhilipCheesesteak That's probably what the director/writers intended it to be, but it's just confusing. I mean, why would the metal loop be connected to the electrical wire? Does it make sense to have this extra long metal loop extending out from the electrical wire? You'd figure it would all be encased for safety.
