@birth2end I may need someone to double check this answer, but from all the slapping he does, there's an actual sort of indent in his thumb and he's filling it with the glue. The glue hardens and basically acts as the missing chunk so to speak.

Actually i think i figured it out.

He does a slap "dead hit" (on a muted E or A string, doesn't matter which) then immediately after he does a pluck on the muted G string, and then he slaps the low note, and just switches low notes.
