  • Awesome video dude! Just wondering though... Do you need 'trapcode particular' to do this? If so where can I get it for free?

    Thanks

  • @dancecraze5 The use of Trapcode Form here was really just me to trying something different than the original effect as seen on videocopilot. The original effect doesn't require it. If however you'd like to try something similar to my version then redgiantsoftware let you download their plugins as a free trial.

  • Very good indeed!

  • @jaSindar Cheers :-)

  • Nice work. I respectfully disagree with some. I do think the car only added to the scene. Even people on the street running would have been cool as well. Keep up the work.

  • @rkttkr Thank you, that's very kind of you and a really nice idea about adding people too.

  • bad -_-

  • Better if you left the car away, very nice effect though :) welldone

  • @ImageReflexion Cheers. Yes I think in hindsight I shouldn't have tried using a 2D car - it might have worked with a nice 3D model of a car - which I have now, but didn't have then. All part of the learning process :-)

  • @planetmirth2001 Indeed! keep up the good work :)

  • nossa cara fas uma video aulafalando como e que se fas isso meu ficou muito bom

  • pretty good!

  • @jnddepew Thank you :-)

  • Andrew is awesom

  • @LxmNxm Yes indeed - very inspirational.

  • haahhaha the car

  • Yep, definitely if I do a remake it's going to be a fully animated and textured 3D car - and not just a hastily cut out still ;-)

  • nice video.... i have this tutorial from copilot..... :D

  • Thanks caesar88caesar. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

  • Nice video :D How did you make that vibration effect? pls tell me

  • Glad you liked it szGabor93. I got it to vibrate in AfterEffects by right clicking the audio file, selecting "Keyframe Assistant/ConvertAudioToKeyframes" This creates values that change with the audio. I then simply parented random different variables of the visual elements to these values - so they moved to the beat. Hope that makes sense.

  • That's an awesome effect. I am just starting to do some animation and also trying a lightsaber effect. I am just about to download Adobe After Effects. It seems like it is complex but i hope to get used to it. I think I will try this some day or something similar but I think I'll want to get accustomed to After Effects first.

Your vids are awesome, keep up the great work.

  • Thank you for your comments and for subscribing - much appreciated.

I've been working on my next series of uploads, so they should be coming soon.

After Effects is a fantastic program and there's a lot of great sites out there to help you learn.

You should checked out the following, if you haven't already:

    videocopilot

    ae.tutsplus

    I can thoroughly recommend both.

Looking forward to seeing what you produce.

  • Well I can't dowload after effects anyway because our computer has only 1gb of RAM. And Dad says that I have to be ready for school on time and after every week we get one more gig of RAM. I also have to save up for Adobe After Effects because I'm not allowed to use the money out of my bank. sorry if it seems like I'n whining about it but I was really looking forward to doing some animation and effect tryouts these holidays. Once again ur vids are awesome. ty for the sites btw.

  • Thanks again madminnycar. It may seem harsh, but I guess your Dad has your best interests at heart. It won't be long until you've all the RAM you need ;-)

After Effects is an amazing app. Thankfully for students I think you can get 80% off - or even better you can get a free trial. The trial version should allow you to produce something good enough to impress your Dad and show him that buying AE is an investment in your future - if that's what you want to do. Good luck.

  • even 2gb of ram isn't enough to work comfortably you will lag alot and ram preview will take forever but I guess you can master it with patience, also a good processor is needed. if your comp is more then 3-4 years old you will have a hard time.

  • Yes. Technology's a double edge sword. It's great that computers are constantly getting faster and better - not so good that you have to constantly upgrade to keep up.

It'll be good to develop loads of patience early on though - as even with the fastest computer around, to be any good at VFX, patience is almost as important as RAM.

Stick with it and the time saving work arounds you need to find now, will really help you if you decide to make VFX a career. Good luck.

  • Yeah it does suck having to keep up. but I know how to build my own computer so I buy my parts directly from the supplier for only about 25% of the cost then what stores sell for.

My comp atm is top of the line in a store it would cost 10,000 :O I got it for 1000 lol just got the components and stuck it in a case I already had.

  • @iscay666 Excellent. i look forward to seeing what you come up with.

  • I use AE but not in this way more for AMVs which are Anime Music Videos. I don't really do effects like this. but if you like anime and music chances are you will enjoy AMVs

  • @iscay666 Really? A $10,000 computer for $1,000? No way! Oh and you can build your own? Wow! I didn't think matching the colours and shapes was so difficult! But I guess you are way more skilled than a monkey right?

Seriously dude, it's not rocket science to build one, you match the colours, CPU's don't got in the RAM slots and HDDs don't go into your PCI-E slot... Pretty easy.

Also you should go back to school, 1,000 is not 25% of 10,000.

  • @TheMuxXx

#1 Are you angwy, poor didduuums want a hug?

#2 It is possible if you buy it straight from the factories.

#3 Not all computers are colour coded and trust me, ive seen many people put the wrong plug in the wrong thing and fly a computer at my I.T class is in tafe.

    # 4 your right 1000 isn't 25% of 10000 I never said it was. I said you can buy a computer for 25% of the cost of a store one. then went onto say the price of my computer. The figures are completely unrelated.

  • @TheMuxXx Fry* not fly.

On a final note, cheer up, smile, go chase some butterflys. Everything you said was debunked couse of your inhability to read and understand. Go troll somewhere else away from all human contact.. thank you.

  • @iscay666 Factories don't sell products. Wholesalers and retailers do. Congrats on two posts. I guess you looked at the first reply and then thought you hadn't acted like a child enough and needed to drop your level even more. I would go on, but it's pointless... I will let you continue to think you are important... somewhere.

  • @TheMuxXx Yes they do, if you talk to the right people, and I never said i was importants, your the one putting words in my mouth. Anyway whats your problem with me saying its possible to get cheap computers? Whats so horridly wrong with that?

  • Looks sweet. Is that the sound effect or the music?

    From inside the moving car:

"Energy Vortex, aw toss it! I'm late for work!"

  • LOL.

If I remember correctly the music's from Video Copilot's Pro Score music collection - just to give it a bit more interest. You know how important good music is ;-)

  • Well done. Can I have your email address to get in touch with you for some guidelines mine at yahoo is nofiljee

  • Always glad to help - just PM me with any question you have.

  • good job, it's cool! I'm with after effects but since it's been 3 weeks since I starrt learning how to do stuff... wow... it's quite complicated... I guess it's practice and more practice as usual... I try some tutorial but... it's not easy ;) specially 'cos english is not my native language and it's more difficult to me... great job anyway :) thumbsup :)

  • Thank you DocStrange0123, As you say After Effects is a great, if complicated tool.

There are a lot of great tutorials out there, but most of the ones I've seen are in English. But then your English seems very good to me - certainly much better than my Spanish ;-)

You should definitely check out Andrew Kramer at Videocopilot. He gives a lot of free AE tutorials, some of which you might be able to follow along without fully understanding what he is talking about.

  • ^^ :) thanks... I'll check it out. Now I only need a loooooooot of practice ;) :)

  • Me too ;)

I look forward to seeing some of your work in the future.

  • awesome, but maybe you could have the car get sucked in and destroyed making it seem more deadly. =)

  • Thanks ElectricShortFilms. I like your style.

  • lol thanks, hoping to get into effects a little more than I have been lately (flight video up next)

  • I look forward to seeing it.

  • This is real cool video....this looks completely real...Thanks for the inspiration...

  • And thank you acefachyut for your comment :-)

The videocopilot site listed in my "more info" is full of very inspirational work. If you haven't seen it already, you should definitely check it out.

  • Awesome, I like the moving car. Makes it more original.

  • Thanks xXMadTXx,

I'm hoping at some stage to combine this effect with a fiery creature at some stage.

  • That will be kick ass. Is it gonna be a made up creatue, or like a flaming snake or what?

  • Funnily enough I was contemplating a snake type creature with a dragons head. But also was considering a more demonic biped with wings and horns.

If anyone has a preference or suggestion, please let me know.

  • Haha, cool. demons are always fun.

  • This one is so much better than mine

  • Thank you Dr1Great.

After Effects is an amazing application and Videcopilot is a fantastic resource. With these two elements we'll all soon be producing Hollywood Effects movies from the comfort of our own homes :o)

  • SICK! Best so far.

Mr. Kramer better watch his back!

  • Cheers ShortcircuitzTV. Though I think Mr Kramer's back is safe for a while yet ;o)

  • aye...probably one of the best energy fields i've seen. I like the fractal bits you have to make the cloudy look in the ball. And also the lightning stuff. Did you use form for them?

  • Thanks bompakk and well spotted, I did use Form for the top bit.

  • I really loved the reflection. First thing I noticed... while looking for the moving car :P

  • Thanks chaOsMastaGuru. You've some very cool clips yourself.

  • Seen loads of videocopilot energy ball effects here, but this is the first one that I've seen that improves on the original. Particularly like the reflections in the glass and the choice of music - matches well with the movement of energy.

  • Thanks for your comment.

Not sure it's better than the original, but it's kind of you to say.

Also glad you noticed the reflection. One of those details I thought I might be wasting my time on. It's not very accurate, but better than the moving car, I should just have left it out as I didn't have time to do it properly.

As for the music, being a good fit for the energy, I actually linked a few of the parameters into the sound file, so the music drives some of the movement.

    Thanks again.
